Go to Team Xecuter and download auto xbins

        Downloads | Team Xecuter

Run auto xbins(works like an ftp client) on your comp and navigate to

        xbox 360/development/system apps/dash launch

freestyle should be responsive like the nxe dash. Any further info?

Let it finish scanning and then see if it's more responsive

I think it's just the initial scan that takes some time. Should be quicker after the first run.

While in Freestyle you can check cpu and gpu temps by clicking the right thumbstick.
You might want to check your fan setting also
