do we really need to update to the latest fw on blade or just keep happy with the recent 1 ??

Not really if the one your currently using is fine then don't, there isn't much difference between this and the last fw but this has worked better for me then the last, but every box is different.

7 day epg

Hi, i have just brought a new box, installed this software, epg only working for now and next. How who do i get 7 day epg please??

I think 12/10/2012 is the latest patched version you'll find it in the sat section, but there is a new one due probably in the next few days as the official one has just been released 4/01/2013. (official version won't have the 9991 menu to input your sub line, patched version will)

To get the 7 day epg do the following:

first scan in transponder 11778V 27500 , and look for the channels like 8010 or portal video 5, they will both appear blank but will download the epg.

select either channel , then press ok and do an epg update and it will download the 7 day epg for you

then select the guide and alter the epg as you wish using the coloured buttons

always select that channel to do the download , when required , as it uses it for its epg information

If you download the channel list from blade media, the epg channel is always the last one in all the groups... You do this from menu/settings /blade online.

Or, download a list from the forum, but be aware that you may have to tinker with it (whatever the source) to get your localised channels.

You see the box was working perfectly with 7 day epg until about 1 month ago, when a local chap upgraded the firmware, ever since he did this, when i press yellow on 7 day epg channel, it says updating but only now and next appears. Im not sure what he did. could it be that the channel which says 7 day epg is no longer that one?
So Im really not sure what i shoudl do now, should i just factory reset and restore firmware and then use blade online?

should be no problem as long as you can load in the official unpatched firmware from their host site and install it and factory reset afterwards

Hi, I have updated firmware and used bladeonline and channel lists downloaded from this site, but only seem to get now and next on epg. Just cant get 7 day epg. Please can anyone advise me on what to do. I have read that I need to do a scan on a certain freq. How exactly do I do this scan please. Sorry, I am a newbie and have not much experience of this! Thanks very much in advance..
