Look at it this way if your out of contract which if you have a Thompson HD box you will be then your on a 30 day rolling contract with $ly, which means you can keep going for as long as possible or until they swap out your box and make you have it re-paired so to speak or cancel now and save some money
Is this the End or The End is Nigh

yes i was wondering though if having an older live and active box would be an advantage in any way, seen as they seem so keen to obsolete them!Look at it this way if your out of contract which if you have a Thompson HD box you will be then your on a 30 day rolling contract with $ly, which means you can keep going for as long as possible or until they swap out your box and make you have it re-paired so to speak or cancel now and save some moneyComment

I will be trying this in next hour or 2 so will report back with the outcome of my effortsMy card received an update today in Oscam and I lost all premium channels. I had a pace box in the loft and thought I'd get the card paired to that to test whether the card will clear movies and sports again in the server. Got the card paired and it cleared all channels in the Pace box but when I put it back in the server box the Sly Sports & Movies still do not work but all other channels clear.
So pairing an HD card to an SD box will not bring back the premium channels despite it clearing in the SD receiver.Comment

From what I've read, pairing the card to an SD box using sly's pairmycard website will bring back premium SD content but HD will still be lost in your 3rd party receivers
When you look at just how large the sharing business is With sly uk cards its a wonder that it's taken as long as it has for the powers that be to take action.Comment

Its not as simple as that. As soon as you input the details of an SD box online their system recognises your card is paired to a HD box and will not let the card pair to the box. The only way to pair it is to ring them up but good luck in explaining to them why you need to pair your card to an SD box.Comment

Totally understand what your saying but you yourself mentioned it was possible elsewhere, how did you get round them? Its not as simple as that. Like I said if Oscam were to sort out the problem with other NDS providers they would have done so. If Oscam were backed by NDS competitors they would have had a solution to all the packages I have mentioned as competitors would throw a lot of money into it to get a solution so this cannot be the case. As for the white cards being done within a week then that info would have been given to them by hackers/coders or they got the code from cccam. The difference is that in the case of $ly/ND$ v OnDigital, $ly had a vested interest in bringing about the demise of OnDigital, as they were a genuine rival that had market share. B$lyB are now largely UNrivalled, so there is no competitor out there willing to throw the necessary resources at h@cking the new encryption.
They have the monopoly and any upstarting Co is either bought up by Murdoch's empire or crushed by its' might.
I always thought competition was a healthy thing but to these people global domination is the prize.

As much as some people say that the UK market is small that's not true, its probably one of the most sought after cards In The European market. People need to realise that should this card fall then other major nds cards will follow with the same security measures.
NDS have a fair amount of enemies and stood on a lot of toes. So just because there is no direct rival in the UK means nothing. People will be queuing up to take a boot at them.
As for hacking the card, thats not going to happen but enabling cs will always be possible for aslong as their is cards. But cardless boxes is too much of a cost short term.Last edited by Rodbouy; 25 April, 2013, 20:42.Comment
