you are getting the wrong end off the stick i didnt mean it like that! if your system is set up correctly and not overloaded it should be running ok atm but the door is going to close, regards mdtDM800HDSE SIM 2.10. SSL84D OPEN-ATV ORBITAL 80CM/DARK MOTOR/IBU/53E-30WComment

..With respect though, I can't imagine why you'd say discussions are irrelevant. We all should know that the door will close eventually. The question is how/when.
We know things are changing.. it has already begun.. why are discussions pointless.. for example.. those that understand - shouldn't we be start thinking about using our gift of knowledge to help others and warn them that in a few weeks/months these expensive new receivers may not do what we've [in effect] told them they'll do..
or should we in fact just say, ~~~~ it.. pointless discussing it, it's is going to end.. [only we don't know when] so until that day I'm quite happy to sit back and let people shell out lots of money on something [in the belief everything is 'hunky dory'] which I know isn't true and might actually not be the case in a couple of weeks/months.
classic example posted just 25mins after this post ---> http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...ceiver-310990/
In fact - I'd actually agree in some respects.. most of the posts are irrelevant.. especially ones from people who continually insist there isn't an issue.. yes.. ok.. we hear you.. it's working fine.. good for you.. point noted.. or people just giving their tuppence worth. It's not the end of the day etc etc.. stop crying..
A lot of people HAVE noticed something different though - it may not effect everyone [I personally think it does, but some don't notice any side-effect] but quite a lot of people have seen the effects and (hopefully) would like to discuss their findings on this particular topic without judgement..Last edited by Murf22; 26 December, 2012, 12:36.Comment

1) no
2) I have been involved in satellite forums for may years, helping run them etc and stand by what I say. the eurovox cable brigade invaded the sat section for plug n play sat tv for sly uk but all the main receivers are bought for most other sats.Last edited by satsmo; 26 December, 2012, 20:12.Comment

dont ask me to elaborate but its nothing to do with set up.
example today s sports 2 sd whilst city qpr replay from last season was on it was glitching every 7 seconds on internal lan but when i inserted multiroom card in db server it was perfect replaced original card and glitch every 7 seconds multi room card again glitch free i did this five or six times so there was no mistake defo the card.
ecm average on original card 0.350
ecm average on multiroom card 0,160
entitlements on original card till feb
entitlements on multiroom card up next week.
this was nothing to do with load only 2 client boxes connected 1 in my bedroom and1 in kids room.
to be honest theres alot better packages than sly uk available anyway so no huge loss in my humble oppinion.Comment

I personally have to agree with mdt and a few others i have not had one single problem since i started this thread but other people are which is odd to say the least.
Again a manic states in a previous post:
This is what i ideally started this thread for in the first place not to doom and gloom but as a warning to members who where just buying expensive satellite receivers with so called '12 Months Gift' that eventually they would not see a return for there expenditure.Sly UK is not the end all of all providers, in fact very few receivers bought will be used for uk tv.
Someone else pointed out that it appears a lot of the cable scene have jumped onto this now with the slow demise of 2 other popular cable receivers.
The Main point being is this if your just starting out then do not go for a fixed dish at 28.2? east and then spend 2-3 hundred quid on a duo or what ever as eventually you will be using it as a glorified Freesat receiver, The main word there being 'Eventually'. Spend that little bit extra and get a Motorised Installed then the disappointment wont be as big when something does happen.

I am getting serious glitching and sometimes no broadcast at all on tm5402 hd channels in the evening (usually just films and sports but it is starting to spread to other hd) sd are fine. Strange thing though is I have exactly the same set up details (so to speak) in my solo clone and experience absolutely no issues at all, to the extent of testing the same channel in both boxes at the same time. So my conclusion is that closed source are likely to be effected much more than Linux. It would be handy if the lads could come with an updated add-on for tm.Comment

I dont think Open v Closed source will have any bearing unless a new cam is brought out thats to be essential for using. Then its your more reliant on some one else creating a patch but a suppose same could be said if a cam was ever to be released mainstream.
One thing would be interesting, would be to see if the Glitching v non glitching are on their own setups or someone else's server.
SD and HD are both affected by the high ecm times but for me I dont have any glitching.
even SD crime channel is really high right now, so its not a blitz on while games are on, I just think people notice it more when lots of ppl are on same channel and high ecm times causing their problem.Comment
