The point was that only 2 models were having the update but so far thats not the case.

So im at a loss to what the hell your on about?

Its going to look suspect if your box should have had a update yet its not. I done a force update, paired card and all is well still.

There are loads of boxes out there that don't take the new software
I sub-contract off many insurance companies and I have found that a lot of these boxes mainly pvr2 and thomson pvr3 and 4 are rapidly breaking down ...mainly down to card reader burning out,
It could be down to them being not capable to cope with the new software
I remember when the new white sky card first came out we had problems with the reader burning the card ......and this is happening again now,
But I have not come across this problem on a pvr5.

My Thomson with Component output hasn't had an update for Years.

In the document in the first post it says about customers will soon not be able to view HD channels if the update and pair is not completed but no mention of standard definition channels. Does this mean that the HD channels standard def counterparts will be axed, otherwise what would be the point securing HD if the same content is available in non HD? If they do get rid of the SD versions what about people with non HD STB's, would they be forced to upgrade and pay extra ?10 a month?
