The firmware update is being rolled out in stages with one batch of updates released per week to minimise the impact on their call centres. Unless it is your turn to receive the update your card will not be updated to the new pairing system. The update is only in the stream for those customers who are to receive the update therefore force download of the firmware will not affect the card from clearing the premium channels in Oscam until it is your turn.

My card hasn't been in its official receiver for the past 4 years and the entitlements on my card updated yesterday to mid June. I do not know if I should have had the update or am due it and I'm not about to take the risk either.

I think information is Scarce at the moment on this, but over the next week or so, some clever bugger will be able to shed light on how to decrypt the Boxkey...... I hope so anyway. If Murdoch wasnt so bloody expensive we wouldnt need CS anyway. Same goes for Bg at Microsoft, if it was cheap enough people would pay for it.

Think there is a lot of scare mongering going on at the moment. No one truly knows what sky are up to, yet people are jumping to conclusions. Let's see what actually happens and then we can go from there. My thought is all the manufacturers of the boxes won't take this lying down as without cs and the like they don't really have a business

To coin a phrase 'Dont kid Yourself' when this goes its gone for a long time no miracle cam will open it and no one will do it for free, if it is cracked then i doubt the average Joe Bloggs will get a luck see until the gig money men or who ever funds the next crack gets there cash back ten fold. Then maybe just maybe what ever is involved gets leaked, to get a real look into whats involved try and watch or find a copy of the panorama show Murdochs Pirates to see what was involved in hacking the Seca encryption for Ondigital nearly 10 years ago, lets put it this way its not some spotty kids fuelled by redbull sat in front of his gaming PC with a card and reader.

My turn to put my two pennies worth in. The only people this will really hurt are the plug and play closed source brigade. Yes I have a TM5402 so my wife is included in this group. I also have a vu solo and line all e2 boxes is much more than just a Sat receiver. Will I be a bit pissed off at sports and movies going, probably but it is not the end of the world. With the on demand plugins working add good as they do and movie streaming plugins. Maybe people should do what I done and actually try and learn something about this game that can be done on a fixed dish before they piss and moan about a provider trying to stop them stealing their goods.

New market forces from ten years ago to drive a 'fix', but didn't help the Aussies when they went black.

It's deffo a wait and see the full extent of what happens.

I wouldn't pin my hopes too much on Oscam sorting the problem. Oscam usually rely on others to post the fix and then they implement it into their softcams. When Foxtel went blank in Australia the Oscam team put their hands up and said that someone has to come up with the fix and then they will implement it hence you can see why no Foxtel cards are working in CS today. Then we have Viasat HD, Dolce, Total TV all of which can be shared but not public in Oscam.

Would this work in order to try preserve my card in debian.

I use my multiroom card now as lost my mainbox with couple family members on and we all chipped in. if i were to call sly and ask them to pair my MR card with an old sly plus box i have so i can record, would they do this?
or even if they did.. if i asked they pair card from my main box, the one which has now had update and doesnt clear in Oscam.. if they paired this would this now clear again or is that particular card now a goner?

                          Thanks in advance

Like I said if Oscam were to sort out the problem with other NDS providers they would have done so. If Oscam were backed by NDS competitors they would have had a solution to all the packages I have mentioned as competitors would throw a lot of money into it to get a solution so this cannot be the case. As for the white cards being done within a week then that info would have been given to them by hackers/coders or they got the code from cccam.
