The I-Box2 Plus is not based on the XP1000 but on the Golden Interstar XPEED LX, there are less firmware images available. I believe the I-Box3 is also based on that model.Comment

Hello, I've been using a dedicated PC with vdr (a linux program for satellite reception) for almost a decade, but now I need to either upgrade it (for HD) or look for something else. I read every page of this thread and the cloud ibox2 seems to be a good candidate for "something else" (I love cheap stuff
), but I have some questions I hope you can answer:
- I've seen many references to patched images but not about source code patches: I'd like to build my own images from source. Of course I should ask the vendor before buying, but the patched sources must be available somewhere, aren't they?
- The software gives this box many features, but how does it perform as a satellite receiver? Does it have good sensitivity? Can it tune to transponders with very low/very high symbol rate (e.g., transponder 74 herel, which is DVB-S2, QPSK with a symbol rate of 44100)?
- I have nagra 3 legal card, would it work in the card reader of this receiver? If it doesn't I suppose I could replicate my current setup (an usb smart cart reader+pcsc+oscam), can I?
- The BBC is switching satellites and next month I won't be able to receive it anymore. Is it possible to watch iPlayer with this box? With subtitles?
- Per chance, do you know if this box has some GPIO available?
Thank you in advance for your answers.Comment

Just a word of advice, do not buy one of the first batch of the CloudIbox 2, they are still distributors sending these out with faulty resistors and no card readers, if you buy insist that you want one one from new batch that has 2 usb slots and working card reader. The one I have turns the dish OK and the tuner seems OK, I am using a Vix image and ON DEMAND works great as well.Hello, I've been using a dedicated PC with vdr (a linux program for satellite reception) for almost a decade, but now I need to either upgrade it (for HD) or look for something else. I believe all PLi images have the Wi-Fi option. You need to insert a supported wireless dongle and then power up the box to have it recognized.Ok for the people that has the openpli image where you can choose wifi or lan connection in network what openpli are you using because i do not get a choice for wifi.

Hi
I have a cloudIbox 2 with a fault and I am sending it back to the uk seller, he has advised that I should replace it with the first Cloud I box , he reckons that they are more stable, the heat issues are fixed and they can run any image, can anyone tell me if it is true that I can run any image on this box? I particularly liked the Vix 308 image that I had on faulty CloudIbox 2 that is to be returned.
Thanks for your help.
Sorry for the duplicated post as I first posted in Engma 2 section.Comment

the cloud ibox also needs patched images it is a clone of the vu+solo hd it will run blackhole images also vix and a few more but they all need patched the cpu is 333mhz compared to the ibox2 at 500mhz i prefer the cloud ibox2 but the original ibox is good also you can get patched images for both of them you have just been unlucky with your ibox2 i have heard horror stories about the ibox tooComment
