Last year sly still had 5 million SD boxes currently active. So if you think they are going to cut SD off any time soon I doubt it. Thats a lot of replacement boxes to get through.

Thompson HD boxes are no longer getting the channels either. They had all been asked to upgrade the box for a replacement and most did. The ppl who use their card in a 3rd party receiver and place it back in the thompson box DO NOT get the HD channels from what I had read so far. I have yet to try it on mine. But don't see the point any way.

Either way we all had a good run. Just as well we still have cable.

a great theory mate i wish i could believe that
was happening, but when you look at the chns that have been blocked for a long time like osn/nova and even digialb and for the last six months the hd channels on 13e none have been got open again as of up to now anyway, and this was posted elsewhere and if true then others with a official subscription will or should be getting this info very soon

i subscribed to cable from old Richard
for a long time and he gets the bulk of the channels
from the provider on 28e so no matter which way
people go it's a win win for them. the only reason
i got rid of cable was because i got really fed up with
all the repeats, the lost of these channels doesn't bother me
at all. there are more sats out there and lots more channels
i think everyone must have realised this couldn't go on forever
i can remember getting more or less all channels open with keys etc:
and cards, cams also patches we have all had a very good run in this hobby
and i'm sure if all the channels on this satellite are blocked, it wont kill this
hobby off in the short term.

Few HD channels disappear

I dont know if anyone else if having same issues as me. For 3 days now i have lost 5 HD channels. Sky Arts 1 and 2, History, Nat geo. All HD. Getting a scrambled sign . The rest are fine.

Different encryption on the cable side I believe. Keep thinking of buying a few cable tuners from China.
Any channels you don't pick up Smirnoff?
