Thanks to Digicon's advice I managed to install Vix just as I would on an original Vu box via the usb.
Did I come across any problems? yes but just as I do on my original Vu+ Duo when installing Vix, i.e the box looping and having to be re-flashed when installing certain plugins, It's just a case of finding the right version of Vix 3 that is stable rather than the latest one (and that doesn't necessarily mean the latest stable version that WoS has to offer) as I've even had problems with that.
The only other problem I had was the reciever having no video out after a reboot although i could see the box behaving normal otherwise, i.e 'blinking' when pressing the remote and seeming to boot up normally, even after a reflash the reciever was acting the same way.
But after removing the hdmi cable and reinserting it the box came back to life.
No problems with the remote either as others have mentioned, it's not a big thing but that was my biggest reservation before I bought this box after reading the initial reviews in this thread, anybody owning an openbox s9 will know what I'm talking about, but I found I could point the remote at the ceiling and still get a response from the Cloud Ibox.
It's quite obvious this box has a heat issue, even though mine does not seem to be pumping out that much heat (I'm tempted to remove the fan truth be told), or at least change it as the one i used was from an old p2 heat sink and does make a bit of a racket once you tune your ears into it.
I screwed it into the fins of the cloud heat sink with a couple of self tappers , aswsell as removing the card reader and cutting a hole in the removeable base and filling it with a wire fan guard taken of an old psu, when I get time I'll post up some pics.
But like I said, even with a lip test it doesn't seem to throw out that much heat, it might just be a case of 'luck of the draw' with these boxes.
My cloud has been on continuously for 6 hrs now , the last three running vix 3 and no freezing problems whatsoever, If it stays like that I'll be a happy chappy because the difference between these an let's say an openbox is light night and day.
At the end of the day 6 hrs is nothing and if you can afford it buy an original and take away the doubt, because after what I've read about these boxes I wouldn't be happy to go to bed an leave the bugger on without having some precautionary cooling device. which if you are CS'ing is a must.
Apart from that it's probably the best receiver at the moment buck for buck money can buy if you're on a budget.

. But being realistic even pying full import duty and vat the price will still be good so it should be a win win situation.
