Lombard the top grid I refer to is the black grid that the card reader is attached to or in real terms its at the bottom.
My box is upside down ive attached a picture how mine sits and definetly no heat issues at all.cloudiboxsetup.jpgComment

Yup got ya, i know they had the main board at the top to get card reader in, its just moving the heat to the top where there is no vents, if they could make one with mainboard at bottom, and bigger heatsink and cooler , think could have no heat issues then , this box for the price and running latest enigma 2 images, even better if make another with cooler running,
also anyone notice the adapter gets hot ? it seems same connection as dreambox adapter , its 3amp output, worth trying a DM800 adapter which is 2amp ?
i have ordered a fan from ebay, will give that a try

at the moment i removed card reader, installed very latest VIX 3.0 and plugins i prefer setup, will now just test it see how stable it is , i have it standing upright and seems to keep it cooler, still not happy how hot it gets, worried for long term use
ThanksComment

Hi, i have it running now for full day no issues at all, i have it upright which does help alot with the heat, when touching the box it aint as hot as when was standing flat, its a good test as the weather is quite warm now , i do notice the adapter is quite hot , i have very latest vix 3.0 build running with all plugins loaded,Comment

As I wrote previously, my ibox would freeze randomly when I disconnected the card reader for cooling reasons. Ever since I connected it again, and having it out of the ibox to get some better cooling , I have not experienced any problem att all after countless hours!! Installed also a bigger 40mm fan inside and drilled some holes on the downside (which is upside now as I have it upside down). Does not get hot at all like this!Comment

Mines froze when it was upright but after like 18hrs, now i have it upside down with cover off, with no card reader attached , i now felt the heatsink and its not as hot now, before it was very hot, this box got great potential , if only the revise it so doesn't heat up as much, anyone else also feel the adapter gets hot, it gets hotter then the one that comes with dreambox
or if anyone got some mods they done to solve the heating up
ThanksComment

mines been running fine since i have it upside down and with cover open, im gonna try doing some mod , i have ordered a 70mm x 10mm fan, plan is to have it on the underside of the door that you can clip off which had card reader screwed i removed that and want to screw fan on to that, and have fan blowing into the cpu heatsink,

Hi, i got the 50mm x 10mm fan installed its better then the fan that came with it, blows more air and aint loud at all20130709_182725.jpg, still waiting for the 70mm x 10mm to arrive which i will be screwing into the bottom cover,Comment

Hi, another update with fan, got a 60mm x 10mm fitted , it spins really fast so was loud, so from a PC fan i had, it comes with a connector which reduces voltage so slowing the fan, it worked great, still really good air flow and is silent , anyone know what this connector is called to reduce voltage , now i have the box the right way up and can feel airflow from both sides which is nice , i also heard they making a revised model of this which is slightly bigger , so hopefully sorted the heat issue

Update after using with latest vix 3.0 , seems box lasts around 24hrs, then if next day i do anything, it can slow down and get vix logo loading on top left side, i can leave it for few mins and seems to sort itself out but can come back, so best to restart till around another 24 hrs or so, cant be a heat issue, so now i flashed in latest Openpli 3.0 and see how i get on with thatComment
