Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is to receive the honorary freedom of Trafford borough. He will be formally honoured at a meeting of councillors on October 14, said Trafford Council. Sir Alex is also being recognised by the local authority with the renaming of a road near Old Trafford stadium from Waters Reach to Sir Alex Ferguson Way.

Sir Alex said: "I am delighted to accept this honour from Trafford Council. When I arrived at Old Trafford in 1986 I had little idea of the journey that awaited me. Over quarter of a century later, to receive the Freedom of the Borough of Trafford and to have a part of Trafford carrying my name is truly humbling."

    What's next for him

Lucky Fellaini wig was banned from DK. He would've flipped his wig over the transfer.

he`ll do well lads, trust me, watched him develop , when he came he was gash, always giving away silly fouls, and most blues thought we had bought the wrong lad from standard liege, however he has improved year on year and will continue to do so at manu, the lad has a strange quality, he uses his chest, he somehow finds the time an space in centre of the park in the fastest league to control with his chest and just keeps any challenger at arms length, its quite bizzare, sure you will spot it when he starts playing, good luck for the rest of the season, and don't bother coming back in jan for bainesy

i think we should give the lad a chance see how gets on no disrespect to efc but Fellaini is playing worth a much better quality players at united and that can only help all round game ok he is a big physical midfield man he lets you know puts his self about with a temperament but as long as he learns to control that i think we will have a quality midfielder im not saying its the one i would have gone for on first on my p riot list but lets face it there was many available in transfer window who wanted to come to utd.

to be fair to Fellaini i think he can play a bit too as well as being a threat in the air, he will also give a bit of steel and presence to our midfield which we lack and he is unlike any player we have

People say he is not UTD class, i beg to differ football is not all about pretty patterns it is about being effective and i think he is very effective at what he does, and the people who say that seem to forget our midfield consists of anderson, cleverley, carrick and soon to be 40 Giggs, Its hardly oozing gamechanging world class players

Personally i think Fellaini can ruffle a few feathers who ever he plays against, if he can keep a lid on his anger and up his pass completion rate i think he will do good things

if sundays defeat pointed out one glaring problem it was the absence of a target man in and around the box from set pieces and corners, that is what you get with fellaini,he will make a difference and our loss is your gain, would have preferred baines to go before fellaini but hey ho.his physical presence frightens opposing players and will not suit your champion league set up but will make a good squad player.

Coentrao deal was done too late too apparantly

Not a good start for Moyes and Woodward in the transfer market but im not going to pretend Fergie and Gill were masters as the press and sky sports seem to be saying now

Ronaldinho and last season Lucas Moura spring to mind, even Gareth Bale we didnt want to pay the 10m spurs paid we thought 5m was better yet pay 7.5M for Bebe who the manager hadnt seen ( think that was some kind of scam to get money out of club)

So we are no stranger to it, and IMO i think Fellaini will be a good signing, pity we couldnt get in a creative midfielder too so we may see some movement in Jan

Fellaini done deal, FC deal dead in the water. Makes me mad the fact we have been caught up in all this when we knew the one that was coming in months ago. Onwards and upwards, we have a league to win.
