I've got to the point where i'm installing custom ios, but i'm getting an error=-1 message. Have tried reformatting sd card, etc, but no luck. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I think you may have skipped/missed a bit, do everything agin after installing homebrew channel m8.

Up and running in less than 30 mins (once i had everything on my SD). Felt like the Krypton Factor initially, but looking back it was a breeze. 100% spot on!

One question, if I may... Any way to have the ULoader default to the IOS 249, PAL/NTSC, rather than having to configure all the time?
TBH m8 I dont play it, I'm not a gamer,, I'm sure someone else on here might be able to tell you, but there's nothing in the menu that has save config etc ?
Next time I have a Wii, I'll have a looksie for ya.

Ok here goes might of been a fluke, I installed Uloader first (forwarder-UMRD.wad), then I installed cIOS 15, defaults to IOS 249 every time m8.
Give it a go,might work might not, dont have another Wii to try it with.

Added thanks for the guide too, lots of Kudos already here for this man, I'm thinking of trying it later as I'd like to boot of a USB HD for my games as i'm fed up of putting in the damn cd! I think i've got 4.2E, i'm not sure as i've got the Wii Drive Key V2 installed.

For people using DVDRs, I can say i've used Ritek Xtreme Red DVD_R, Verbatim DVD-R and currently using TDK DVD-Rs without any issues!

Quick question, anyone think it's worth Softmodding if you already have a Hardware mod (in case hardware mods will have updates soon to allow USB HD play)

                  Thanks!

Great guide, I started the weekend with no Wii modding experience (and a 2.1 version Wii that was gathering dust!) Following this it worked 1st time and both me and the kids are very happy. Now I'm off to learn about wad installation! Thanks dell_xps!

Hi, this is my very first post. Here's my story... Got a black wii and updated to 4.2e. I followed Adewii's guide, mixed with some of nessie's applications due to differences of versions and I got new super mario bros to work via USB (neogamma v.7. Every other loader does not work). But this was my ONLY working game. I downloaded and tried lots of other games, PAL always, and most of the times my wii freezes before even the game starts. This means i have to unplug it, because power/reset buttons don't function... There where been cases of games that do start and they freeze eventually, always at the same spot. I do have a NAND backup kai priiloader installed. I also confirm the fact that DVDs cannot be read. I'll try your steps and hopefully get this done. Oh also bootmii can only be installed as ios...

I'm wondering... How come there are not any uploaded NAND backups of successfully softmoded wiis? so everyone who has the same firmware could use it. I'm guessing there is some difficulty in this plan... Let me know if you have any possible answers.
