I have gone through the tutorial & it allseems okay though I have not tried it yet as I dont have a large usb stick.

I am worried now though cos when i try to go to normal disc channel it has a wii update which then goes on to say this may render my wii inoperable when i click continue.

I havnt done yet , wot to du next please !!!!

Original discs are working through home brew & uploader??

as short said in last post your on 4.2 so updating from a disc is safe for now,its worth installing preloader to stop these updates,also make sure you make a nand backup with bootmii

Still unsure of this though...

I checked back through my original installation of hbc and had missed some bits out (doh) so I reinstalled it and gained a seperate u loader channel.
After reading through the directed post i came to the conlusion i did not have priloader on and it did not come with the hbc pack?
So i got an independent copy from ades reference to the completesoftmod guide(as his are not there?) I followed instuctions to put that one on & evrything goes fine.

I now have two u loaders I can use to boot up my discs but I am still mostly concerned about pressing the original wii disc channel where an update awaits with a warning message,do i update or not?(cant find a reference to this) I have been unable to make a nandbackup as nothing happens when I press 'home' on the hb channel there is a messsage at the top left though'system is not initilialized' which afterwards changes to the wii ip address.

edit~just read a further doc in guide & it looks to me bootmi should of installed along with the bannerbomb file?
If ive buggered up along the way can I go back and start afresh?

go right back to the first section and install bootmii and dvdx if you havn't already,once thats installed when you push the home button you will be able to make a nand backup,not all updates are system updates some are just iso's a game needs to run if your on 4.2 let it update,as for 2 uloaders,if you want to delete one use wad manager and uninstall one of the uloader forwarder wads

Anyways, I cant load burned dvd. I get DVD Error -2
I am using DVD-r or -rw which shouldnt make and diffrence.
And also I cant watch movies, same error in original and burned.

I have looked at a lot of these post but cant really find anything to help me.

Can you please help me fix so I can use Burned DVD Games, watch Movies and burned movies?

ok your wii wont have one of the new chips,make sure you installed dvdx from first post,use verbatim dvd-r's not -rw and use imgburn on x4 speed,to play ntsc make sure you select force ntsc in loader settings,to watch movies you will need a multi media player installed like the one from my previous post

Hi me again

Went back and started the first bit as advised(I guess from installing bannerbomb?) and i now get the message 'Neither /boot.dol /boot.elf could be found.I have tried this on the original SD card and a new 1.
So I am still unable to do a back up ???

Help

U must put boot.dol or elf in the root in your SD
and really doesnt matter if you open SD card from Wii Icon Data managment or the SD card from the Wii channels in the beginning.
Read the instructions carefully and you will get it right

Atm i cant get the Verbatim dvd-r, but ill try make it work with DVD films. If that works, then it should work with burned games to yea?

not forced to movies and games are different,movies tend to work on cheaper media,but at least you will know you'll know you can play backups
