    Thanks!

Have successfully softmodded my wii and have homebrew up and running.

I own the original Wii Fit Plus, and it's asking to install an update.

What is the best way to disable games asking for updates?

Have you installed priiloader? I'm sure there's a configuration setting in there that allows you to disable DVD updates?

          Hi
DVD Error -2 is a common PC error "Cyclic redundancy check - data error". It basically means the DVD is unreadable.

Are you getting this error on your Wii?

I have been at modding my 4.2e Wii for hours now and just can't seem to get past the CIOS stage. It just hangs once I try to reload Bootmii again now.

          Any advice much appreciated.

Yes I installed Homebrew channel, then directly after DVDX, I tried to do it the other way to. the DVDX first. And then again Homebrew and then DVDX

Still I get DVD Mounting Error in Mplayer and when going in to File/DVD Video and Play DVD and it says Opening Stream, it just shows the background itself removing all the text.

                  I still dont work

Could it be that I have that stupid Chip in my Wii? If i know that I have it and no Hack is available right now ill just go and buy a big external hdd. But I want to know that first

Do you guys have any info on WHEN they put in those chips? Like a date. So then Ill try figure out when i bought my wii more exactly and see if it has a chip or not.

If you guys are sure my Wii probably dont have it, then plz continue helping me with DVD's and that.

                          Here is mine.
Wii Drive Chip Database - Serial Number Estimation
There is a 100% chance the chipset is GC2-D3-2 (v2) with no drive chip.

                          Poor me Seems its no-hackable.

So does this mean I must stick to USB, Extern hardrives untill an hack can be found?
But movies can be watched from An HDD yea?

                          EDITED
Btw is there a Chip availible for the d3-2 drive?

                          And one last question..
Will hackers/modders try to hack this new drive? I think they probably would, because i think they like hacking, and this is a challenge.
And it might evan be posted here
                          thx for all your help

Now for further questions of People that have troubles with this DVD-r stuff, Check if you have d3-2!!! Thats like the first thing to do!

oh all that work for nothing, but you can still play backup games and movies from a usb stick or hdd, hackers are not working on drives, the wii hackers are all moving to usb/hdd loading, but you can buy a new drive for it but you would be better off spending that money on a good hdd

I actually went to install an older version of preloader last night, but it threw up an error about ES_DIverify

Are there any additional steps after running through the tutorial on page one to patch ES_DIverify?

This may be a silly question but...

I have to start up my Wii and press the 'reset' button to see the priiloader menu. Then I can take an option to boot to system menu. Is it only under these conditions that the priiloader hacks are effective? ie: If I don't force the Wii to first boot priiloader in this way, the DVD may force the Wii to ask for update?
