will a factory re-set get rid of all problems

    i have device manager page onscreen now it has + in a box with green icon network adapters next to it,directly under it has - in a box with yellow question mark next to other devices,then yellow question marks with ! merging with it next to multimedia audio controller,pci simple communications controller,video controller (vga compatible).

      is the network adapter expanded showing u a ! under it yes?
      if so that means ur network card is not installed and u will have to find out what driver is needed and d/load it on the laptop and transfer it via usb to the xp computer

      really need a screen shoot or device description or even better the make n model of ur motherboard

      if u cant find that out off by hand use siw

      download the file to ur usb stick then run it on ur xp machine
      then scroll down to HARDWARE and find motherboard and tell use the make n model

        the network adaptor is just a green square icon no ! directly under it, i can take a photo of the screen and then put it on my website in fact i can take several photos of different things if you let me know what you want me to take.

                          i've uploaded all the photo's to the website under heading properties photo's 1-6 but i havent added the one with my name and registration but it says
                          system windows xp,professional,versio2002.
                          computer intel(r)
                          pentium(r) 4cpu 1.70 GHz
                          480mb of ram.

                            ok rite now we know its not a hardware issue as its correctly installed
                            can u take a pic of the error message that appears when trying to surf the net
                            also you need to install new web browsers to eliminate the problem
                            can u download and install these and see if u get the same error

                              i transferred them from the usb stick to the computer the same way i did with ccleaner but both failed i.e 8 had the message about not finding an entry point like i mentioned in other relating post and the firefox set has just failed i still have the message on screen it says sorry,firefox cant be installed.this version of firefox requires microsoft windows xp sp2 or newer,i have taken pictures of both screens and i'll put them on my website under headings computer screen and properties photos 1.

                                i thought i would take a picture of the line-char-error message whilst the computer was still on and then another error message box within the main error box appeared,i'll put the pics on the website properties phots 2 & 3.
