Would you please help me with mine too?

Yes, you are correct, I was in a bind. Thanks for your quick response.
I am a hardware freakazoid. I started out with TRS 80s and Commodore 64s. I work with PCs, Macs and anything else that pops up. I also have telecom and data equipment. Basically, I live in a big computer lab with lots of toys!
Cheers!Comment

dell 630
I work for a computer repair shop and recently came across some refurbished laptops, and i need to re-load them with vista
Problem is on 1 of them there is a hard drive password, and after reading all the other posts (after first doing research) i am need of the password, the place we ordered them wouldn't have it, they gave us these machines with no OS even loaded, i guess you get what you pay for right?
here is the info
Dell Inspirion D630
Service Tag (On the bottom of laptop) 1009Q61
the white screen says: 1009QG1 595B
if i can get the password that would be great, then i can reload vista on it, make my boss happy

Thanks
we are a refurbished electronics business, we bought some dell laptops cheap, and for some reason or another they didnt have an OS on them, so the first one i formatted and re-installed vista on no problem, but that 2nd one had the HD password on it
but it worked, and no i wasn't selling stuff we got for free, we did buy them from a distributor and are legitimate, but as i said i guess you get what you pay for
thanks! (and where is the thanks button?) i'll be sure to stay active on this forums, lot of good info from here.Comment
