hi thanks for your reply. i have no box i have just been reading loads on net and found out the information from hidden menu on the phone tried using the standard usb lead that the phone came with and it wasnt readable in any of the mep progs, only way i could read it was through the engineering menu.

have you got blackberry manager installed? if so you should be able to read but sometimes try another mep reader

You got message "code error" when try to unlock a blackberry, Dont worry here is the solution.
When you get code error specially with 8 digit unlock code, follow the instructions below to fix this and able to unlock blackberry phones successfully.

Always put sim (any operator sim) inside while entering unlock code, some time code not accept without sim card also.

Download and Extract the file and save it to your personal computer.
Connect the device to the personal computer using Blackberry Desktop Manager.
Double-click the downloaded file SIM_Unlock_Tool_USB_BlackBerry_Gsmfather_server. If prompted, enter your device password. The unlock tool runs, and the device resets when complete.
Proceed with the SIM unlock instructions provided by Server.

hi how are you thanks for yesterdays advice. I have tried the 2 zipped files you have provided links for and no joy both progs are not connecting even when the phone mngr is minimised and connected. the first file wouldnt download . thanks for the info much appreciated..

dont have it connected to b/berry desktop manager you only need to install this program for the usb drivers the problem you are probably having is mep reader cant see the phone if its connected to b/berry manager
