Hi Folks, unfortunately i have been hit by th sky Update and have now lost my HD Channels on my server, does anyone know if i can get this up and running again, even in SD?? SD is better than nothing at all? I am running cccam and oscam? thanks folks

no chance m8 you should still get the multi-pack in sd though but not all from what ive read... please watch what you are saying in regards to provider and system. why did you put the card in official box if running O****/C***** ?regards mdt

Had a power cut on my server, so i put the card back into my Sly box, had no picture, they all said you needed to subscribe to watch the channel, please ring this number....... i rang them, and told them that i was away for a few weeks and i cannot watch anything, they changed some settings (There end) and asked me to put the box into standby (Red) then after 10min i was free to use it again, they told me they updated my box, to pair with the card, my box works fine with the card in, (skybox that is) but when in server, i only get selected channels..... most Hd are missing.....

so take it no hd or movies or sports whats about kids documentrys and so on if you can give any info of channels that you can get it will be better than nothing

shove the card in your s*****/unofficial box and see what opens,regards mdt

mate we need to find out what channels open after the update as sports and movies did not work before in another receiver before the update

I think most people get the True Hobbyist/Enthusiast mixed up with the other general run of people who get a motorised system to watch 3pm football and then have the usual 28.2? east as the main viewing, this is not how the Hobbyist/Enthusiast works at all.

I for one wont be sorry to see it go as i class myself in the true hobbyist part, My dish is used on a regular basis seeking feeds and new transponders on different satellites especially the harder to get ones such as those on the fringe 25.5? east 21.6? east 7.0? west etc.. and also C-Band which probably never gets a look in on most forums as its considered so called 'Niche' but there are loads of Free channels both on KU and C band available with very Large dish setups, Probably only a few members on here have such setups and use them for this purpose.

I do agree that probably most Motorised setups sold in the last few years have been put up with one purpose in mind and that was for the Football and most of these people are part of the Plug & Play brigade like we have now with the Open/Skybox boom. and when it does finally go dark because most do not venture onto the forum to find out exactly what is available for Free/Softcam/Keys etc.. will just let the dish sit there and rust.

If only these people would take an interest in what there equipment is really capable of then they would be very surprised at what is actually out there and not just rely on 28.2? east

And those who say they are life long hobbyists have probably just dipped there toe in the water in the last 15 to 20 years when the Digital Boom took off, A life long Hobbyist/Enthusiast is someone who has long since seen the start and finish of the analogue days and before that was also a keen HAM radio enthusiast.

This post is not in contradiction of yours, it is however in agreement..

I dont do much in the satellite world now but from the age of 13 to about 16, my life revolved around satellite TV, those who have been on this site long enough will know. In the last 2 years i have dropped off the addiction - for non hormonal reasons ;-) - and despite having sophisticated knowledge, set-up, experience, i find it hard to call myself a hobbyist like i once was.

many people do little but kid themelves by thinking they are hobbyists.

Whatever is going on now with the card will mostly only affect those who have become to think of C/S as a right to them, rather than an illegal activity. Things like this have happened in the past and TRUE HOBBYISTS with extraordinary know how get together and give it their best shot for those like us to benefit.

One can only hope something else comes along

I can confirm without going into great detail and nothing to do with myself but from another source, My source indicates he received said letter about pairing procedure a few months ago and did nothing since then had zero problems however in the last week noticed no entitlements arrived to his card so was in the unfortunate position to have to return said card to receiver and call to have card updated. Voil? No HD Sports, Movies and no SD Sports

I am using Cccam 2.2.1 and it has never been in my official reciever, and I have not suffered any high ecms or glitching, and all HD channels are working.

It must be card or reciever specific or done in phases as a rollout?

Its like a game of Catchphrase at the min with little bits of a jigsaw coming together.
