does anyone know where the bcm on a audi a5 convertible 2010 8f is located, cant seem to see it in the boot side like older one. just see a module that looks like the roof control and parking assist model where the bcm is on older model, this is a lost key job, will avdi be able to do this one if I find bcm to unplug, any advice welcome thanx

Not through this option

Open from the main screen ABPROG, in the drop menu select Nec key

and on the right side of the window is Read Nec key password

This is the only thing on abprog wich i have to say works flawlessly, 3-10sec is needed to get pass when the nec is cleaned very well. And it Never destroyed key or messed it up like other tools.The key just keeps working again as soon as you solder it back on its pcb. And works on both v57 nec rom versions perfect

Have same problem after latest update protag not working in my opinion the firmware is not getting flashed correctly or maybe at all, Tested the protag with my other interface that has 3-2017 software and works fine, updated that interface with latest software and now protag don't work with this one also , Must be something with the latest software,

Unistall everything including usb port then install all again will work

Try installing many times on three different laptops same results
ck MD5 checksum all correct so no error in download problem must be with the software portion that handles the firmware update.

To work properly it's always been that you had to connect PROTAG with separate USB cable.

it is a known fact you connect PROTAG with USB to laptop,there is no other way to connect by my knowledge.
Last 6 months I own PROTAG always connected by usb to PC will not work any other way

My issue is protag not functioning properly after may 2017 software release,
I have done every possible thing I can and still not working.

Want to know if anyone have the latest update from May 2017 installed? What OS you are running
and if you can do this simple test

Only with May 2017 software not interested in older versions they work fine

I have trouble to read EZS password with one working key.

When i put in PROTAG working key LED-lamp green and red blinking fast and always software say "put the key in the PROTAG" so he doesn t see him.

I try in few cars always the same.

Is problem in last update? because when i get new(last) update after that this doesn t work.

Please i need advice or help how to solve this problem.

Did you solve your problem ? I had same situation and had to do option without good key ALLKeys lost to retreave the pass

is simple way to tell if PROTAG working or not

I think the May 2017 update has a glitch flashing firmware in PROTAG that is why we see this issues.

Iveco daily. Done today had to fiddle around a bit but got there in the end. Info if your interested. Read epprom via obd, similar magneti marelli bsi as ducato. Attempted to use ducato to pre code keys. Dump not regognised. Used keytag tool too add new id48 directly to dump. And then loaded back modified dump back to BSI. Just Need to reset bsi after each read or write by pulling the two big plug out for a few seconds.

i wouldnt put it past abrites to make this the case and make the purchase of protag compulsory . AN059 is the only VN003 licence i havnt purchased yet , ive done spares with AN049 and tag tool. i bought protag a while ago because when the new fiat FN017 licence was released it stated that protag had to be used for these , so assuming this to be the case i asked my distributor kap who said yes this was needed so i bought it . a few weeks later videos were being put up with people using tag tool , so protag wasnt needed as i had been told.
i contacted my distributor to complain about being mislead , in fairness kap handled this perfectly and did say sorry as they also believed this to be the case and offered a full refund and offered to take protag back no question , they said that as abrites no longer stock or sell tag tool , and only sell protag , this is why the listing stated protag was needed as all they sell now , but it works with old tag tool too , but as no longer available wasnt mentioned. so i opted to keep protag rather than return as no doubt would need it at some point. but kap were spot on , appologised and offered a refund for the mix up.

so worth double checking with your distributor if this works on tag for sure , as im sure at some point they may stop this working in favour of protag , but all other applications where site says protag needed that ive tried , work as well with tag tool.

AlekN , good to see you again here , no one is posting about the free functionality as all confused about the VN006 functions as the announcement is unclear , the fact it looks to have some of same functions as vn003 is causing some concern , the worry is some coverage may be taken away from vn003 , and customers forced to buy vn006 to get it back .
maybe you could give a factual reply to ease the concerns and state that no functions will be taken away from vn003 and older licences , then maybe give a little more detail on what vn006 actually is and does , this would then end concern and speculation , and we can all concentrate on the positives from latest update .

i am also sure that many will be happy to recieve the new free functions if indeed they remain free , though many will still be mindfull of getting suburu free as long as they have ams , only to have it taken away from them when updated , and with issues in past on vag licences when jiggled , you can maybe understand the concern many feel with regards abrites. will these free functions remain free in the future or will they only be free for now and follow suburu ?

the concerns and speculation you read may seem unjust to you , but they are purely based on your customers experiences in past on abrites past actions and often misleading as unclear announcements , im sure better clarity would avoid many online situations , just as something given free is free and remains free into future will stop such concerns .

i am going to reserve judgement on VN006 , AlekN said the upcomming video will explain far more , so i await this video and the bug fixes that some have had from support when they come , still a little confused on whats what with vn003 and vn006 but alekn says all will become clear when video is released , so i wait in the hope that this is the case , as still unsure of it all .

Here is what it is:
There are different cluster generations. New additions to the old system are free for all as they were before.
New system (NEW VDO type, JCI, Continental....) Go under VN006. I do not see it as hard. So free addition for the older type, like TIGUAN, Golf 6 and so on and PAID VN006 for the new generation of clusters. I hope this is clear enough.
Side note, FEM replacement is ready and will be added in a day or so.

sadly i missed the MLA show , so unaware of who was and wasnt busy at show , abrites i know had kap and keyprint selling it , and xhorse were also pushing VVDI and obdstar were also at show , not sure how either did at show .

what i do know is i have avdi and its served me well to date so on the whole i have trust in the licences i have despite the issues i have with their ethics and treatment of existing customers , but i have to admit that vvdi is looking like an attractive back up , despite reading the negatives on its own thread here , it seems both tools have their haters and their supporters , but im seriously considering one as a back up to avdi and for the functions i cant justify the cost of avdi licences for and the solid reports ive had about its bmw and vag capabilities .

As far as i know, the new update in AVDI and VVDI is for the new generation of clusters before mk7.

So VN006 will cover does clusters.

as far as i did understand it, the new clusters 2014+ (not G7 platform) will be free for mileage update vn001, and free for immo related stuff vn003. But vn006 should be something new that the other tools not have and can make immo 3 and 4 systems all key lost situation without takeing apart the cluster. And Golf7 is immo5 system so not covered at all by Avdi (for now)

and the new clusters should be posible for all keys lost with vn003, but just with the old fashioned way of hack&slash :P

Had the same issue, realized internet speed and computer speed makes a difference. 1 of my computers is definitely faster than the other at extracting pw. Relay clicks faster and the counter is faster on 1

I had exactly the same issue, Astra H. Resorted to other tool and reported error.
Range rover sport 2007 would not add key, used skp <60 seconds done.
Very poor.
I haven't had an issue resolved in the last 6 months and I've had plenty of issues!


On a positive note it did initialize a new electronic steering lock on a 2009 Mazda 6 which support asked development who responded we don't know if it does or not?

Hi, I recently came across a few questions about the DAS manager software and discovered an issue. Below you will see three scenarios that I hope could help someone:
Various problems in the W164/W221/W251/W216 cars and I will try to explain the most common of them:

1. Before facelift (where the connectors of the EZS are far apart)

-Here we have a car that if you have a working key you should be able to extract a password via working key and protag when you press "IR adapter and PROTAG"
-No working key - there is 1 solution - read the EEPROM and extract by dump.

2. After facelift (EZS connectors are close together)
- Working key - pretty much the same as the pre-facelift cars.
- Non working key - 1 solution in the world - IR adapter and extract each possible password (8192) by hand - put IR in, take it out.

3. Various problems: Mileage correction people tend to install software CAN blockers - if you have one it is highly likely to not be able to extract the password because there is a CAN blocker in the gateway that blocks communication with the EZS. SO if you have different values in the EZS and cluster it is likely that the car cannot be done unless you get star diagnosis and reflash.

Of course it is - this is a totally new platform with 4 years of constant development, Key learning and cluster calibration for 2014+ cars. This is a big thing to develop so yes, this is a new function and yes it needs to be. There are free updates to existing functions for all people with AMS, of course but this is something new that nobody does.

when i face something i doesn't work always restart commander and go straitly to what is not working or bugging

it will make the log file clear and short for the person who will check it

then you will no more have check battery , if they give you some instructions follow them !

guys reading every manual is mandatory to use this interface , i agree sometimes not complete and need updates , but at least it gives you a way to understand the solution , happy new years

always send logs , i had my 1st A3 failure last week on a 2006 model , worried it may be due to update , i sent logs to kap who forwarded to abrites team , within a few days ive had the response which is impressive considering the holiday period , it was an unsupported software version in cluster , sadly i couldnt part the customer from their cluster to send off , so abrites are sourcing a cluster as believe they can add this if they get a cluster with this software version on .

so a positive response and shows sending log files in does yield results and shows abrites do look into them and try to resolve issues for us , i cant complain at the service ive had on this issue especially considering the time of year, so hopefully they crack and add this at some point . so always help them to help us by sending in the log files.

They are not supported at all! AVDI has the same loader as Smok and everybody else. Loader for MQB 2012-2014 just available on Smelecom, Enigma and Elprosys.

Johnner , at risk of being accused of wanting to hump abrites by staff here because i also highlight the positives as well as the negatives, so if not wanting critisism aimed at staff here maybe staff here should not have licence to insult members here, or is this acceptable one way but not the other ? , just saying as this does look one sided, maybe staff should be impartial rather than stirring the pot, after all the role of a moderator is to moderate impartially , not stir the pot.

i agree the subaru functions just being taken away when advertised and announced as free and given free is not defendable and in my opinion wrong . protag , shit happens , i bought a new computer last year , its half the price this year , this is common in all walks so i live with this , i also paid top dollar for mine.
i agree that its a balls ache when previously working functions now dont work or old bugs remain unresolved , this is an area they should do better on , but the tool is far from shit , it makes me a very good living and some functions are outstanding , yet all one reads is the negatives , if anyone dares point out the positives its ridiculed .

i agree users should complain and should report when something is wrong or failing them and be upset as we paid alot of money, i just dont think abuse achieves anything other than a negative response, i didnt read it as alekn was objecting to the complaints just the abuse , i may be wrong but i dont believe abuse should be tolerated in any form from members , suppliers or staff .

I own abritus. Personally I like the tool and it works perfect for me. I have been subscribed to the thread for a long time now and have read an awful lot about what's going on.

My conclusion and opinion is

I don't think you should comment here a longer as you don't appear to bring anything but frustration to the people who are haveing issues with there abritus licences.

It seems to me (again it's only my observations) you don't actually help anybody resolve there issues nor provide any actual constructure help.

I observer it appears to be an opportunity to promote special offers and new licences and not alot else

This is a forum for users to state there everyday findings in regards to features that are working or not and hopefully to get help and advice on how to get there jobs done. You just appear to hinder this by way of adding further frustration.

Perhaps your efforts would be better spent at HQ fixing the bugs people are actually complaining about.

However as earlier stated my function work great and I am Very happy with my tools so thefor I consider my thoughts neutral and non biased.

It was said long time ago...fixing bugs should be no.1 for abrites...seems to be not that easy for them as we think.If simple issue is reported and is not fixed..what is the reason for this?
Example is my request to fix erase M35080 in bmw clocks...i report problem many times with logs and i had chat to support about this ongoing issue.
And what?nothing is fixed.
The last time i spoke to support about it was like 6 months ago...and still cant see any repair solution.
I know few abrites owners that bought seperet divice to erase them eeproms witch is not fair i think..

Then few more about tool not working great, then about bugs and sh...
I know is not the perfect tool but is the best at least for me and I am very sure for many of you is first on list.
I can tell you my experience with the tool. I have full Avdi paid full price for it not promotion and shit.
I also pay full ams and support with kap and I can say that much... I am doing the job with the tool always...support is great also.
Then I also have smok full and tango full , tmpro not full.vvdi.vvdiprog and vvdi mb,Ktag ori and a lot of China clones.
All this tools together are doing the job.
But problem is this business is going worst and worst every day so that's the reason for them complaining...hard to charge money for jobs when all this cheap clones come out and others does it for peanuts.
Or as I see they are always the same people complaing about it...Don't get me wrong boys but is thru..
If I was you Alek I will not take any shit from these people ... So never coment again here let them pay support as all of us if they want answer.
