I would like to know if anyone in this forum, ever compiled a image from source? say.. the DM500 OpenPli..

I am exploring the idea of changing the source of this Setup page, where you perform Upgrade.

It would point to my Repository, and it would contain the latest OpenPli image got from the official source, modified to add the necessary bells and whistles, and become plug-n-play upon user perform Internet upgrade via menu.

Even when a user itchy fingers performed a factory reset, it can still download a working copy via this upgrade function.

Wonder if my idea is doable.

Hi, newbie here, I want to confirm the steps to update the channel list using SGSH 18082012 E2 800 & 800SE + Picon found in the Downloads section. So far I have been using my box for more than a year with no problem so I will not mess with changing image/back up keys etc. till I am more familiar.

So here goes:
1) I am using a DM800 HD PVR as stated on the front panel of the box. (This is same as the DM800 u guys always mention, right?)

2) I checked under About and the info is as follow:
Enigma: ramiMAHER-experimental
Image: Experimental 2010-06-06

3) So I backup my current bouquets by copying everything in /etc/enigma to PC using SmartFTP. Is this all?

4) After backup of bouquets, I just follow the 1st post in this thread by ASTROBOX, correct? (Already downloaded PD_Dreambox Toolbox)

Just use dreamboxedit and you be fine
Whatever image you use is not important
Read the steps and follow accordingly

Is there a way to hide the reserved channels by default? Currently when I activate the bouquet, I always see the reserved channels. Have to press the red button to hide them. Anyone have any ideas?

why do you want to backup bouquet since you already want to update the bouquet?
I dont think this step is necessary
