Hi seniors, i hv updated the latest bouquets on my DM800. But found there are many reserved channels, can i remove it as i find them quite annoying especially when u r searching the channels. So actually what is all the reserved channels for and what is the purpose? Can i removed it?

All the reserved channels is for user could do a direct 3 digit selection of channels from RCU eg 101 Preview channels all u have to do is press 101 from RCU it will go to that channels if u don't want it than u can delete all the created bouquet then u have to scroll for channels selection or u can use the red button as DB traitor mention if u don't want to delete it

Thats why I created the bouquet in a way such that you can browse by category without the reserved channels but when needed, you can key in the channel numbers and get to the correct channels.

To newbies out there

Just for your info, its very time consuming and tedious to do a updated bouquet and service list.
If you done it before, you should know that you actually need to spend hours/days doing it.
So if you have benefited from it, please thank ASTROBOX , abeltcb and ahbenghero for their tireless effort

And not to forget SGDVB for creating online updating features. Although its no longer available, but many of us has benefited from it before. He is a very sincere and helpful senior among us.

And bro Jastropheed for sharing his valuable experience and patience for explaining things to us in the forum

I am using a DM500C with darkstar 2. I have followed the instructions given by astrobox which is very detail. everything is gg very smoothly.

But when i restart my box, i am stuck at the darkstar 2 startup screen and it will keep flashing. Did i miss out anything impt? anyone face this problem before?

which bouquet are you using? maybe you can try changing to another channel and see whether anything comes up. (Bouquet button on remote and browse to another channel.) if doesnt work, try ftp another bouquet in.

When u power on the set, it is stuck on that screen? I think u need to reflash yr box if like that but u will lose all yr settings. Did u backup yr keys n roms or image?

I am backing up now. luckily i can still access my files through FTP. i read earlier that keys can be found in /var. but where can i find roms?
Correct me if i am wrong, image file i can always flash any firmware in. what is impt is the keys and roms right? because w/o it i can only watched fta channels.

Rom files is in var / scce did u use this images recently?
I used to use this images very good & can say stable only thing is not a maxvar so when u install plugins check your var size 1st,if possible use maxvar images for 500 & don't use images that pre installed 3 to 4 skin that would use up your var folder & what u experience now
