Did you use the services backup option in the Dw image to create the services.tar.gz file or did you just copy the files across?

Try selecting the 'Reload Channels' option from the User Features menu.

I used the DW image as per the first post.

      Ah well, thanks for trying.

Tried going back to DW and doing it again, sadly same results.

One problem of noticed with DK 1 and 1.1 is that on two different boxes an old original and a new clone. The yellow button menu sometimes hangs just showing only the Kaos extra settings and only way out is to pull the plug....

That's happened to me once or twice too. I usually do a scan straight after the initial flash and it seems to cure it. I tried looking into it but couldn't find a fix.

Thanks for the reply. WS is fine, its when you go to a 4/3 broadcast, my DBox2 displays it as 4/3 and draws black lines down both sides. The DM500 stretches it to 16/9, AV settings are 16/9 and disable WS on 4/3 check box set. Tried on two WS TVs, same issue.

Of course it does, why would we release a faulty image?

                            Dreambox 500dc will not start

Hi. I have purchased a new Dreambox 500c which has already been flashed with the latest image from Digital Kaos. However when power is applied the digital Kaos screen appears, then disappears in an endless loop.Pressing the menu button on the remote does nothing. It the image corrupt? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You'll need to flash the image again using Dreamup.

You'll need a null modem cable (?2 on ebay) and a com port on your PC. If you don't have a com port, you can get a USB to Serial adapter.

Hi. Thanks very much. I flashed the Dreambox using a null modem cable as you suggested and it was successful. I followed the "Total Spoonfeed Guide" to transfer required files to the Dreambox. The guide states that "keys" & "scee" files should be placed in the equivalent subfolders in the VAR_INIT folder of the Dreambox. However the FTP software (FlashxFTP) refused to transfer the files into this folder. Instead I used the "keys" & "scee" sub folders within the VAR folder on the Dreambox. This was more by accident than design!! However it did work. A successful scan and tranferring of bouquet files from another DreamBox setup followed to produce a fully functioning Dreambox. I was not aware of the USB to serial adapter. I had to use an older machine which had a serial port for the flashing process. My Dell Vostro 1700 has no legacy ports.
