Oh, and you don't need to star(***) out your ip address, it's a local address confined within your home network, no-one can get to it simply by knowing it. We'd need to know your main router ip address to access it.

But I did find that someone has uploaded these files which appear to work fine with this and any other image.

No...Dreamup is for flashing and backing up images. If you want to transfer individual files you need to use an ftp program and a crossover ethernet cable.

ok maybe this is a stupid question.but forgive me im new to this..my laptop only has one ethernet port..so if i use my wireless and then connect from my lappys ethernet to the dm500c using the crossover cable and flashfxp. will this work?....actually if the files are on my lappy i dont need to be connected to the internet through my wireless do i? ....but will this method work to connect the dreambox to the net for streaming purposes..ok that was three questions but please help me im just a simple idiot or maybe i can connect the dm to the back of my belkin wireless router, would this work with flashfxp to put the files on to the box?...im lost, which of these options would work and work best

Yes just fine. See the tut's in the sticky threads (RED) at the top of the forums section to learn how to setup and use the FTP app.

If you hook up to the Router you'll need a standard ethernet cable, a cossover cable is for direct connections only.

just like to say excellent image. I was previously using doirj and dw 2.1. I think the digital kaos has an excellent skin provided. (I like the way you can move the now and next bar). Also now and next does work. I remember seeing a post that this was not working. Also liking the pic icons. Another good point is that it picks up more channels performing an automatic scan than the diorj image did. Great work guys.

Just noticed there is a 1.1 damn,...... cant be arsed to change again now. Will maybe update in a couple of months.

im interested in watching films from the pc cutting out the need to burn discs so hoping that's not going to be to complicated to understand.

does this image have full teletxt and subtitle support for all the channels as on other images ive used these features wouldnt work,or would only work on 1 or 2 channels..(i like to use subtitles as im hard of hearing)

There is the teletext plugin in the blue button menu, that will get you subtitles. Whether or not subtitles are transmitted on every channel is a cable issue, not an image issue.

guys, i'm new to all this....i flashed my box with DK v1.1, and it went smooth, the issue is still i couldn't receive the scarmbled channels...is there anything else i have to do? is there another image i have to install?? please help
