Guys, hopefully my final word on this. Below is an article from The Scotsman by Andrew Smith. He talks about the targeting of Lennon and why Scottish society turns a blind eye to it.

For the ill informed, the informed and the curious it's an interesting read. If any of you English guys on here read it you will probably see much of the article as stating the obvious, but for this to be in the Scottish media is a big-ish thing.

i dont really understand the northern irish catholic hatred thing with neil lennon and i believe this is where the death threats and bullets etc are comming from.
As a rangers fan i just dont like the man because he is seen on video spouting sectarian abuse at rangers fans when he was a celtic player and spat on a rangers scarf also. I beleive he should never have been allowed to become the manager of celtic after demonstrating this behaviour. I think he is a good manager and has made some brilliant singnings for celtic but he seems to embrace controversy and in doing so makes no friends within the scottish game.

Jonny I'll not argue with a lot of what you said there.

The only thing I would say is that the incident ref' to sectarian abuse - I watched the video you posted some time ago and for me it was inconclusive. Though to be fair Ally McCoist was no saint as a player.. I remember one Glasgow derby when he scored and pointed to the red top on his sock with the other hand in the air (depicting red hand of ulster) and there was also plenty of things going around at that time re him sectarianly (is that a word?) abusing Celtic fans. I seem to remember he had many a trip over to the North with Gorham with many a story coming from them.

matty if what you say is true then mcoist should not be allowed to manage rangers- I know a lot of stuff goes on behind closed doors like rangers celtic celebration parties which is unsavoury. What lennon done for me was a disgrace as it was in the heat of an old firm battle with live cameras, he should know better. If what you say about mccoist is true then i fear for the game as now both old firm mangers have previous.

I've kept out of all the shit that has been posted in the celtic - rangers posts on here up till now. but I think some of you all need to grow up and get a life.

There are certain people on here that look for any excuse to bring all this shite to the foreground at every opportunity and they all seem to be wearing green and white, bar one or 2 idiots on our side

Ally, you've had a fair few digs at Celtic fans there which is fair enough, I don't mind one little bit, but aren't you being quite petty with some of it? Something that you accused others of doing in your post?

I think this thread has by an large been healthy debate (unlike the rangers v celtic thread). There hasn't been any sectarian sh*te posted on this thread and I for one have found myself agreeing with several Rangers fans posts and even thanked them!

I believe all are keeping a lid on this thread and like I've said before, 'both' sides need to show the rest that we can have a civilised dabate without offense and anybody going too far.
