^ Fair enough that may be a little broad, but he has won the respect of the majority of fans, and as I stated above thats what counts'If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.'

What ahs the game come to when a manger and his family are threatened because he's doing OK?
Nothing the Rangers fans do would surpise me anymore, this is the mob who wrecked Manchester and nearly kicked a policeman to death. And all this because they got beat and because a telly broke down. This same mob have now welcomed possibly one of the most despicable people ever to pull on a pair of boots in the game of football. Say it all really.Comment

by your post you are insinuating that it is rangers fans issuing the threats...
secondly, you presume rangers fans condone such behaviour....
both rangers and celtic have a minority of hardcore biggoted fans.
i doubt any supporter of either side could deny that...
in my opinion there is no room for them in this day and age...
what happened in manchester was disgusting....
but i dont see what that has to do with lennon arttributes as a manager....
please try to stay on topic....Comment

What I would say Andy concerning the threats is that there was a member who posted on the rangers v celtic thread that he "would like to see Lennon getting another kicking" and it was actually thanked by another Rangers fan! Lennon has had more sh*te to put up with than I think any other manager in the modern game (re death threats to him and his family) and although it can't be proven, it would be naive to think that none of the threats came from Rangers followers.
On thread, a think the allegations are a load of sh*te. Remember this is someone who himself has been the victim of racist abuse in Scotland, so I just canni see it happening. By the way, if it comes out that he has said this I for one would want him sacked straight away and I'm sure Celtic would do that.
It would be very interesting to know what was said on that night between Diouf & the Celtic physio, Diouf & Lennon, Diouf & Brown, Diouf & Mjallby and Lennon & McCoist, but I don't think we will ever know as this sort of thing normally stays within football.Comment

It is a sad state of affairs when someone that is trying their best for their team is subject to this shit. Any issues should be sorted on the pitch with the best team on the day winning. The papers are as much to blame as anyone though. 200 Rangers fans complaining! How were they to know it was Rangers fans? Was there really 200 complaints. Is it that bad being called a name? Who knows. And this is coming from someone who's suffered racial abuse and my answer to those giving it was always ' Yes I am and you'll never be good enough to be one now fu@k off back under your stone'Comment

from what i have read and heard, the threats came or are coming from violent organised criminals.
i think it goes without saying that they are rangers fans, but i think its a little harsh to phrase it in a manner which suggest all rangers fans have a part in it or dont find it as disgusting as the celtic fans. (as was done by another member a few posts back)
i think you are right in that we will never hear the full story of who said what to who, with the exception of the diof lennon spat on the touchline.
with the amount of video footage available i think what was said might come out....
back on topic.
i cant understand why lennon got himself involved with diof in the first place.
and to add, i think both mcoist and lennon let themselves down badly with their head to head spat.
at the end of the day, if the mangers are squaring up, then the fans will see it as acceptable...
maybe they should put the dug outs in opposite sides of the park for old firm games

his team maybe playing fantastic just a shame that cant be said for their managers attitude etc. he was a thug on the pitch and hasnt changed. he and ally argued in public and should make a joint public apology. cant stand all this in the papers - he said this but he said that. have a press conf and put it to rest and apologise - both of them
this comes from allys no 1 fan as well.sigpic

I think that's a great idea. All the sh*te about Wed night has gone to far. Politicians trying to look good now on the back of it, the Police are doing there best to play it all up in order to squeeze more resourses out of the government. God are people forgetting what happened in the old days of the Glasgow derby?his team maybe playing fantastic just a shame that cant be said for their managers attitude etc. he was a thug on the pitch and hasnt changed. he and ally argued in public and should make a joint public apology. cant stand all this in the papers - he said this but he said that. have a press conf and put it to rest and apologise - both of them

Alas, Lainie I don't think it will happen though, as there seems to be some 'one upmanship' and passing the blame between the two clubs at the moment with the statements released by the clubs.Comment

Andrew, I think Lennon got involved after Diouf put his shoulder into the Celtic physio when he was running on the pitch to treat Izaguirre following the whitaker challenge. Then McCoist got involved when Lennon was involved with Diouf.
In a funny way both Lennon and McCoist were sticking up for there own staff..
