Is the switch on the internal board or available externally?

If I want a slim modded is this the only option?

    Thanks.

Have a read here about the PCB method

      Code:
      http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67582
And there are 2 unlocking methods on the PCBs, depends on which SPI you have

MXIC is done via the Sputnik method
      Code:
      http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68271
      Winbond by kamakaze method
      Code:

Ahh I see, that's great thanks!

One final question.. of the 3 different methods above, does any one have advantage over the other? I mean if I could choose a premodded system with any of the above, which should I choose?

If you buy a premodded console, then i dont think you will get a choice on how its modded. I would imagine it will either be sputnik or kamakaze depends on which chip it is, the PCBs are sold out in most places now

Seen a slim with 'unlock pcb' advertised which I am assuing is the TX pcb. If this is the case, would this be preferred to the other two?

Again it would be personal preference m8, i would say, if the sputnik switch was not installed then it would be the easiest to unlock and lock

Thanks from the 4 pics posted in looks to b the 3rd philips benq / liteon. As it has the plan u shape. With no edges. So must be. Is that type flashable or do I need to get the specific model?

You will have to take the drive out and see what it is. Ie 0225/0401 ect. If you can post the revision that would be helpfull.

                          Currently Liteon 0225/0272 (was 9504)/0401 & 1071 are flashable.

Also you will need to see what SPI is on the PCB as to what method will be used.

See the slim post of this thread for more information

You can either hook it upto jungleflasher or look at the chip on the PCB
