All about opinions and yes I edit it to suit myself but always found it very good and its a lot better than I could do so I'm very appreciative.

the motor manual should tell you about the dish "bit" , typically the dish will be about 27.5 degrees but can vary from maybe 22 to 30 degrees depending on location, so check your motor manual

so the motor is locked onto your latitude in degrees , so maybe around 51 to 53 degrees depending on your GPS, the dish somewhere around 27 degrees on its marker, the lnb has no skew when on zero , typically use thor as your starter sat but use usals with your gps locked into your box settings

yeah cheers, think my motor is locked at 44 according to the latitude on the motorised installation thread on here, will set at 27 and just see how things go

if you are in the UK then 44 will be wrong as the UK latitudes are in the fifties , usually between 51 and 55 but you can check yours on dishpointer or using a satnav or app on your phone, these will tell you your longitude and your latitude, its imperative that you use these on your equipment

44 degrees is the south of france, like toulouse or bordeaux

I would also leave the sly dish up as it can be useful to have this as well as the motorised dish , especially for a multiple input receiver

you can use a diseqc switch and have the motor on one lnb input and the sly dish feed on another lnb input, with the common going to your box

right so got it onto the wall and everything but there is no power at all going to the motor, is a vu solo not powerful enough?

no problem from any box including a vu solo

they all put out 13v and 18v to drive the motor and power the lnb on the dish , so check your connections are ok at each end of the cable, with no short circuits and good continuity

I dont think you actually know how to make the cable connection using F connectors

try googling it as I am sure there will be a video on youtube that shows how to make the connection

well recut the wires, like on the you tube vids and absolutly nothing still. im leaving it for tonight and having a cold beer and some xbox time. but tomorrow i need to figure this out, going to try a ready cut wire from the market and see how that does to fully rule it out, will have to send back to the seller if not sorted for a replacement
