you need to ftp your file to var/etc you can do this through filezilla or any other ftp client, in my opinion the open vix image is much easier to use and looks better.

on dr dish tv that it looks more like ,and i wonder
what it's a clone of? and which vu box image does
it take?

It's a clone of the VU+ Solo i'm now running on Black Hole 2.0.3 so I can run the box wireless.

I've checked postage would be around ?10 by next day courier so i'm happy to let mine go for ?85

which image do you guys use????

installed OpenPLi-3.0-beta-vusolo-20130126_usb.zip from vuplus site, froze after 20min. Installing blackhole-2.0.2, going to test to see if it dont freeze.

which firmware is freeze free? i just want stable image, where do you guys download the firmware from?

ok uploaded latest cateye bouquet and having problem. channels greyed out. however when after selecting default channel list, the channel start working.

time to try another firmware. vix-2.3.gm, see if that works

Use Black Hole 2.0.3 make sure your not running epg from internal memory use an external usb stick or hdd and you will be freeze free

PM me how your getting your channels as that's not allowed to be discussed on here but there could be another cause of freezing that I can assist off the board

. im sure i know more about the channels then you mate. dont need help with that + no discussion with regards to that subject in open forum or via pm. abide by the rules.

back to original topic. installed vix 2.3.gm seems to work perfectly. long loading but seems stable.

Your question was which image is freeze free I was only trying to help you as you asked a question and I had a reply. You may know about channels etc but as I've now been using one of these boxes for a while and found a few of the problems I know the reason channels freeze on the box and would have told you this via pm.

Silly me assuming someone asking a question actually wanted a reply.

Doesn't matter what image you use, if the box is overheating it will freeze on every image eventually.
I tried most images and every one froze randomly, even on the same image it could go for a couple of mins then Freeze, then go for a couple of hours before it froze again after a reboot.

If you have a box that has froze once you can guarantee it's not going to go away. even with a fan it eventually started to freeze up.

Like I said in my last post, I found there was no heat sink compound on the processor which would explain the problem but the heatsink is stuck down with strong adhesive so you can't add any without ****ing the chip up trying to get it off.

Personally It's just now worth taking the risk buying this box imo.

infact i had vix 2.3 build 133 for 2/3 month freeze free. problem i had was that there were some timers which would not remove and i was running out of memory.

i was just about ot get one
