Information update:
Custumer say that he have problem with new key when he close on remote, than open, new key cant give ignition at first time, need to pul out, than second time work fine..
Any advice?

This is a FBS4 if i'am not wrong , so how do you think you will read it ? At this moment as far i know there is no chance .

pinout pin 8 : Vdd +12 v
pin 9 : CAN L
pin10 : CAN H
pin 11 : GND
You need juste 4 wires to read it ok

You need juste 4 wires to read it ok

do you have wiring for EZS and ELV ?

2. this VVDI MB tool is mainly for work with MB keys, not for MAIN work with ECU's or other units... :listen:
3. renewing some ecu or other units are only +bonus.
4. when you haven't any ecu data from the old units, you can try offline programming and coding this ecu manualy
5. or find the same other car and read some codings from there as sample...
6. when not success in point 4, then try it with SCN online access... ;)
7. this work isn't for beginners or not enough with help some other users from another side of the world, need some intermediate
experience before, because coding ECU after renew isn't only for 2x click and finish :(

I know ecu siemens is more difficult because I do not know by now who made reading tricore tc1796 flash of this ecu.
I work a long time with ecu mercedes, but this time with this model without original eeprom data I have no easy solution. I tried to find the hash in the hexadecimal file of eeprom from another ECU, but not without success, with that could insert data from Ezs. But without success.

Yes I understand, after renewing with vvdi bga, I have already done renovation.
But now to customize it is necessary to code scn online with stardiag.
I do not have this service in the star.
You indicate someone who can do scn online, has shop in china that makes 100 dollar cost.

I believe I have solved the programming of the ECU, the car is far away in another city, changed the personalization, now when you place and remove the car key it changes the hash in the EZS and also in the ECU. But it does not actived. I will put on the car to activate the ECU.



I'll test and count the result.

Man it mean you lost data from key , now you need two tokens for calculating key password for new key ! One time I was have same problem .

Samic, You have forgotten about the MB Tool update /upgrade . It has been a while since the last updated. Vvdi2 and Vvdi Prog have been upgrading.

Yesterday the same thing happened to me as well!

I had a working V57 key, tried to pull password from key and then got "ERROR -2" as well.

Had to finish job by pulling out EIS from vehicle, then reading with programmer and making key with VVDI MB

So I have client sitting in a neighboring country with a C Class W204. He lost all keys and gave the EIS to somebody to make him and key and now he can't find that guy.
So he is asking if we can provide him a new EIS and keys......


Question:
Do I just get another EIS and get Erase + Key pass then program EIS to the ESL (LOCK)?
Or do I need to get his ECU + ESL and match the whole set up? I would not be able to go to the vehicle as it is too far and border problems all all of that. So can I do the whole thing on the bench with the VVDI BGA EIS Cables + ECU Cable set or does it need to be done on car?


I hope some expert such as DAXXER can help with a reply.

Mate...thanks for your reliance to me ;) but i think this case not so easy work as by some W210 or like that...

ok, get used EIS, calc pass by all key lost,calc new keys, change VIN there(for that step maybe need renew EIS)
renew ELV unit and teach(personalise) to this NEW EIS
renew ECU and teach back to this EIS
what transmission ? 5G or 7G there ? need to teach with EIS too... :listen:
EIS+ESL+new keys on bench ok, ECU, Transmission better to teach in car... :)

Had the same situation with w221 with v57 key. First time vvdi identified ssid ,hash counters ,but when i tried to read password there was the same error. The key was dead. Tried to read the nec with simon's touch device and with avdi but without success. Part of the dump was broken. It was the only key of the car and i replaced the eis to save the car. The car was pre-facelift and i couldn't find another all key lost solution.

This is a serious issue. They must fix it up because in some instances you could have some lawyers suing you because the car came workign to you and now it cannot drive any longer.
Why don't they have an eeprom read and save function? I mean eeprom of NEC chip? Why can't you press READ NEC and save data? Is it encrypted or some other issue? If you can write NEC by NEC Adaptor then why can't you read it with adaptor? I mean read full data with password?

NO lawyer gonna suing you because the car broke down.
as long you fix it back is no problem.
and i dont see the whole isseu in this matter.
yes the bug have to be fix but
if the key not working or extract the psw then use the token and get the psw.
after that you can make keys working again.
problem solved.

Vvdi2 has no option "all key lost" for w221 with or without token. That was the big trouble.

in that case is off to the dealer and order a new key.

Yes that was the second option, but the dealer wants the car in their garage for min. one week. The car owner doesn't like it so much...

The job is done the day after. But that's not the point. I can't understand why vvdi2 killed the nec. It was perfectly soldered to the right pcb,jumper was ok and i made all actions corectly.

Hey guys,

Ive been talking with one of the guys from Xhorse support regarding the V57 "Error -2" issue. Next time you get this fault can you please take a snapshot and upload it with the logs for that session so that I can forward it to him. Hopefully we can get this bug sorted out and we can use our NEC adapter to its full potential

Guys are you talking about the "free" NEC adaptor that comes with the bundle, because some of you mention something about soldering? If so - it is known to cause problems. Even Samic admitted about this some time ago. I didn't have such issues when using the non-soldering socket NEC adaptor which is ordered separately. But I didn't do any v51 after the last update. Before that it was working for sure.

Mine was using the new adapter (non soldering). In my case the key was dead before and would not read via IR

Yes I used the free soldering adapter. My opinion was the soldering adapter gives much better pin contact. When they find problem with the "free" adapter they can write it on the official site or on the manual. Not everybody reads this forum .

Any other tips? thanks so much. Do I have to connect anything to OBD cable crocodile connector? Is it possible to read this in the car and how to connect?

i believe you have to connect to this through gateway. ask user daxxer, he will be able to help you out.

samic hasn't been around for a while now...daxxer is your best bet. or maybe some other experts here who done one before can help. I haven't done one on the bench as yet so i can't comment on this.

Dear Daxxer, it is definately an EZS with NEC, Can you please help with connecting either in the car or on the bench with all keys lost? Does Xhorse gateway with direct read cable work or not? Or should I get real ZGS?

Dear Daxxer, it is definately an EZS with NEC, Can you please help with connecting either in the car or on the bench with all keys lost? Does Xhorse gateway with direct read cable work or not? Or should I get real ZGS?
I try but not work with this vvdishop gateway:

Yes, sure is it EZS with NEC inside, not need to check it with eyes :D

1. with real CGW( used anyone from anyone W211, W164, W251 for example) reading sure 100% ok on bench ;)
2. you can remove ZGW from the car from where you remove the EZS, in W164 is his location under driver seat :listen:
3. i not get till now no anyone CGW adapter from Xhorse to my hands, when i can test it...because i have from begin some pcs
of used CGW, then i not need it....but i await one from one "DK" member, when i can test it, when is his function ok or not... ;)
4. i think Xhorse CGW adapter schoud be working.... :) but i can't confirm that before i test it in my hands...

everyone used from car where was installed, for example any W211, W251, W164, W639 ( not all ) and others... :listen:

i think the Xhorse CGW adapter should be working, but i can't confirm that or that...first i need to have it in my hands for testing ;)

I did data acquisition on a w164 last night (07 model). I did have a working key so maybe it's just all keys lost you're referring to?

Is it possible to read the eis data and key password from a blue key? A friend has a w251 with a dead key (they have a spare but can't find it). Couldn't read the password from the v57 key (error 2) but he has an unused blue key and new eis. Tried reading the blue key, it reads it but can't get any data.

I thought other tools could get the data, unsure if it's possible or not.

Hi there fellow members....


Problem with VVDI and W204 / W246 and adding spare key.


Well I have done a few W204 spare keys and even all keys lost and so got some good experience.
However client said he had a W204 and when he sent me pic of EIS it shows its W246. Nonetheless I can't argue because he insists it's a C class 2014 Model.
I see that VVDI can do the W246 spare key and also all keys lost. SO I told him to bring me the EIS and original key.
I then connected it using the W246 cable and it read EIS data by OBD perfect. I then did password calculation and it did DATA ACQUISITION fine and everything. Upload data and it calculated password first try and charge 1 token. SO I was happy that it went so quick............ Until few minutes later when I programmed the key and now realize that it is not accepting the key. I usually go to the TEST EIS function after coding a key to see if there is CAN signal and then I know it is accepting the key. However with this one it doesn't show CAN signal. If I put his original key in EIS it shows it but with new key nothing. I tried 2 different BRAND NEW BE keys and nothing still. When I read EIS data it still only showing Key 1 and key 2 as used. The Key 3 or 4 not showing as used.....

ANy idea why am I having this problem? COuld ti have calculated wrong password or something else wrong????

when i programming new BE key, then everytime after "write" data to key, i read the key again, when I see how is rightly programmed.. :)
how long you have the BE key inserted in EZS for teaching time ?

try to read hash from orig key with password you get in online calculation, then you can maybe to see, when is valid ;)

Usually by OBD is better. IR sometimes reads different values and you need to read 3-4 times so you can be sure the data is OK.

I had the opposite happen, OBD data would not generate a good .dat file, but when repeated with IR would be OK. Maybe it happened because same process was repeated in general, I don't know...

I repeated the process again by OBD and again it calculated password (same password). However I generated new key files and write keys again and same issue.
Problem is the working key is BGA type Original Mercedes so cannot read pass from key.
Do you think if I read by IR it might be different?

You should try by IR too, for sure.
The other day I did a W203 which was with W211 EZS... but this shouldn't affect the programming.

from what car you have the used CGW ???? when i read right, then his number begin with W220.xxx.xx.xx :) this CGW is almost 15 years old unit :D
take out orig CGW from the W164 car....when you haven't anyone other newer.... :listen:

Mercedes Vito W639 Problem. Went with VVDI MB and read via IR. Tried many times but it would not give me the pasword. How will I overcome this? Have taken out the EZS and see a 1L02M chip. How to read this with Xprog? What are the connections and what mask is that for? I've attached the file which it first to see if anyone can extract eith1er the password or key data. This is my first Merc so hopefully I can learn from this experience. Thanks in advance

Well so that 246 Ignition did not work. When I read by IR then it generated a different password but still did not accept key.
Could it be that these NEW eis has a different software or is there a bug in the VVDI?

When the VVDI BGA tool needs internet access for a certain function such as key calculations and if the internet is off or it cannot connect to the server then instead of it giving you a notice that the internet is off or cannot contact server, the application would crash and windows would ask if you want to send a crash error report. This happens every single time that my internet is off (I don't always keep this laptop on internet). I have to then turn on internet and then restart everything. Not like it's a major issue but it's irritating. Things should work smoothly and so they should consider fixing this bug.

have the same problem, it would help for them to have a function to check if internet connection is not there, to provide a message to the user.

happen to me ......when I seat comfortable in armchair and want to switch ON TV via remote, and realize that main power plug is not connected to the wall socket , I must pick up up my ass and go there to plug , and back to armchair and use remote to switch TV.
When I order TV guy in shopping center never mentioned me that.....

Your comparison is wrong.
If your TV wouldn't turn on because the Antenna isn't connected then you can compare it here.
And as it was said above it should rather give a message instead of crashing the app. Many time the internet IS CONNECTED but the VVDI server is too busy or whatever and that causes the app to crash. That is the problem. The software should inform you that it cannot contact server and not just bomb out and have you restart everything again.

i think this function is bad, many people don't know when and how to use it in right way :-(
this function is usable only for big profis, who know what to do :listen:

Just read new key generated by ir, put the passkey on the place of passkey and push activate key and then go to the car , it must work.

Your key pass is NOT valid !!! ...why you don't read MCU directly from the EIS ??? is more easy, safe and you have complettely dump for keys calculating !!! :listen:
open now EIS and read MCu eeprom directly to get valid key pass !!! thats the problem now...your key password isn't valid.... = LED still light without success teaching !!! ;)

Sorry if this has been asked before but I could not find a definite answer within this thread.

I have tried to add spare keys to W164 2009+ a few times (BGA key works car) but it always fails early at the data acquisition stage.
I get an error saying "Can't connect to the EIS".
I have tried this by OBD and using IR.

I can connect to and read EIS data fine it's just the password extraction for an existing BGA key that is causing me issues.

No need try more than 1-2-3 time , if it not working , then it not working ! Developer should fixing all errors his software and hardware ! But where Developer ?
Daxxer do not lie here, you just lie that everything works well!
1. NEC57 in the new version you can lose data from key!
2. Does not collect data or does not find the password W204 W207 W212 if all keys are lost!
3. Does not always calculate the password of the dealer, although the developer promised that this will work, but still does not work!
4. The unlocking of NEC ELV needs to know how long, maybe a year or more!

If not enough, I will give you more examples!

Sorry if this has been asked before but I could not find a definite answer within this thread.
I have tried to add spare keys to W164 2009+ a few times (BGA key works car) but it always fails early at the data acquisition stage.
I get an error saying "Can't connect to the EIS".
I have tried this by OBD and using IR.
I can connect to and read EIS data fine it's just the password extraction for an existing BGA key that is causing me issues.

I try on bench and on the car, old key is v57 perhaps pass is corrupted inside or vvdi is bad!! Because I read pass by adapter. So I read data by ir on bench and by obd on the car. Calculate keys two times and same problem.

Hi, had a 04 w211 st12, eis was ok, i couldn't get pw with ir adapter so i took it out and read it with vvdi prog. got pw and key info. the problem is when i put it back in car it didn't recognise the eis.
tried to open and clean board and it didnt work. I connected another w211 eis that i had in my van, and the car connected to it so it means that problem is eis. any suggestions? did anyone have same problem before with any motorola eis?

I have done W204 all keys lost with VVDi and it worked everytime.
I have unlocked W204 ELV many times also. SOmetimes it unlocks quickly and sometimes take long but it unlocks.

sometimes it just happend. the one mask is more sensetive to get corrupt then the other.
maybe power fluctuation or something like that.

Can i copy the flash from other w211 eis? is it the same flash for all of them, or i need the same part number? (211.545.17.08), i already have used w211 st12 eis but its not 17.08 like this one

W164 you can replace with parts from W251....because this both cars are relatives... :listen:

I've not tested 3 and 4 but your 1 and 2 problems have not happened with me.

i know that dealer password can be calculated for about 80% stated in manual.
and i thought that it was possible to unlock NEC ELV allready.

Trust me the best and the quick way to do the job is to get password from the key. it is a few minutes job and don't waste you time with online password.

if vvdi have take 1 token then the password is calculated.
try again and you will see the password.

if it's before the facelift model then use a programmer to read the mcu.
if it's the facelift model then use W169 (like CAioW sayed) through OBD or IR to find the password.
and yes vvdi can find the password from this car.

Yes, i agree 100% with Ficho, this is definitely not a valid Sonder Hash. I will try to explain a little, without getting too technical.. Sonder hash must meet criteria - 101 (-0x65) from challenge Special key.. in this case, the Special Key (challenge Hash) has only been passed to hash function twice (0x2) Therefore making it impossible to calculate a -101 Hash for it, because any hashes previous to minus two (-0x2) turns do not exist... Here are the results from this Challenge:

Special Key: 3AECA7EA82175B35
- 0x01 Hash: 3091BDACE0AF5D6E
-0x02 Hash: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This means that the hash " 3091BDACE0AF5D6E " has been created (Pushed through the hash function) from an arbitrary number (arbitrary 8 bytes), not a hash.....

And therefore a valid -101 (0x65) hash for this challenge will not exist....

SMOK unsecures the chip successfully and then says Error Read.

XPROG Adaptor reading and then states VCC PIN OVERLOAD and can't read it.

Tried getting password via IR but can't read it.

I did that and used clone xprogm which has been my go to tool to read 1D69J, but this is the second time when trying to read 4J74Y, message comes up Vcc pin overload. Could this be a problem with the xprog?

I did a few V57 Read passwords before and worked. Then came the newer update....... Today I tried and it gives some error then ERROR -02. It has Killed the NEC of the key. Fortunately it was W211 so it was quick to remove EIS and read using VVDI prog then generate new keys and write again. I had to use another NEC because now VVDI cannot read this NEC chip. I tried the Erase function but it shows 50% then failed.
This problem surely wasn't experienced before on VVDI. They need to sort it because it used to work perfect because I used it few times and worked nicely.

i noticed that sinds last update when you have ESL locked and you try to unlock it with vvdibga
you damage your dump.
you get the p/n and s/n scrambled and sometimes also some keys hashes are 0000000000000000.
also the TP cleared stay ticked and you can't personalize/activate ESL to EZS.
someone have a work around for this problem/bug?

When I try to read Flash with SMOK, it says MCU not answer, I guess SMOK can't read the FLASH on this. I need to get me an ETL908

Anyways was able to create keys using the EEPROM and VVDI MB.
