W204 lost keys, I tried on bench and after 2.5 hours, I requested password and it failed. I acquired data again and will check back tomorrow. Any idea why it failed? Acquiring data again would result in different data?

REMOVE NEC - UNLOCK OK
Fiind key pass from v57 key- OK
GET ERASE PASS - OK
VIRGIN EIS - OK
WRITE VIN - failed
WRITE EIS DATA OBD - OK
PERSONALIZE ESL - OK

But the esl is not doing nothing when i put key in....and is showing :
Not personalised
Not activated

Any info ?

If you read password from key v57, probably lost sync with EZS, sometimes this happens, renew key and write again

i renew one key and moved from position 2 to 3 , but i have 2 keys with this car. should i renew the other one aswell and try to personalize ESL again with writin VIN nr ?

You EZS no getting personalised because you need a working key, and probably you key lost sync when reading password, renew key and write again.
VIN is not necessary for personalize,and in car all must work without VIN in EZS you only will get an ABS error.

I have a replacement ECU with the same part numbers.
I know I could clone this without problems but I would rather do the job without opening the case (neater).

I have the adapters for talking to the ECU on the bench, have got the erase password and it renewed successfully.

Do I just put it back in the car and click the "personalize" option?

Ok, finished this up today.
Xentry wanted online access to do SCN coding even though I selected that I had an old ECU so that was a non event.
VVDI BGA failed to connect to the ECU when it was mounted in the car, the personalize button obviously did not work.

AVDI completed the job using DAS manager quite easily.

First win for AVDI over VVDI BGA I have ever had.

I think my IR reader is playing up.
On some cars, it starts to read the EIS data but then stops and very quickly displays "remove adapter and re-insert" then keeps trying to read.
The massage only stays for a blink of an eye, very hard to read.
If I remove and re-insert it reads a small amount then I have to repeat.
On some cars it takes 50+ remove and re-insert to get to 100% and quite often it does not read correctly.

So use VVDI and get hash from BGA key now - Then put it into the dump (You will need to read/write EIS with programmer)

Friend, just let the key inside the EIS for like 5-10 minuts to syncronize again the rolling code in key to EIS.
It happen in 80% when you try to read the password online. This happen because the device try to read the key like 800 times, and lost key sync with EIS.

And if not, the friends have told what need to do. (VVDI PROG and Smok can do the job)

Edit: Oh and try to read the key and look if just the SSID show up, and all other information is blank, if yes, press the button at the botton right, "REPAIR KEY VIA IR"

ESL was stuck in OPEN position - I removet easy from the car change the motor but nothing happens ...
Is still remain in OPEN position - i take key out , put key in no difference at all...
I ended up putting an emulator in this car .

Do i need to RENEW it and Personalize it again ?
I dont hear no relay clicking at all

You are right - ESL is LOCKED .... stupid mistake . I was thinking that maybe it was a straight forward job ... because nobody touch the car. ussualy i get them in locked status after somebody open them before me .

Take out nec chip from pcb then put it in esl adaptor and then chose unlock esl depending on nec mcu it take from 3min to 4 hours then esl unlocked and automaticly renewed then renew eis and personalise esl

Is doing it now... but is weird... all the times it was reading locked first time when i read data.. i was unable to read if it was closed or open and after i go to check if it's locked.. stupid mistake this time.. customer was on a hurry and i hate working under pressure...

Of course they will.
But if you modify factory fitted security devices they wont, and if somebody steal your car what was modified before a few weeks/months, of course you will tell that for example the police officer who will ask.
And insurance company will take a look into that papers.

Hello , i manage to unlock ESL , now the status is not damaged , i fit the board in ESL in unlock position ,
1 found EIS key pass and erase pass
2 Renew EIS by IR
3 Write VIN to EIS
4 Write EIS data by IR
5 Personalize EIS - ESL - All ok
but when i go and read data from ESL , is not personalised and not activated ... when i insert the key nothing happens... no sound no cluck ... no nothing ...

in VVDI update description from Samic is clearly marked: W209 and W211 old type...thats mean with HC12 only...

working EZS only with MCU mask 3K91D or 0K50E = HC12 mcu only :listen:

get password success in time between 30 secs to 1 mins ;) ;)

I removed the ESL and changed the motor, put everything back and not solved. Now when I read with VVDI and click on check ESL status, it says locked and maybe damaged, seems like it got the fatal error for whatever reason, any idea how?

I have the key password. I removed ESL NEC and using unlock 204 with VVDI so waiting till tomorrow. I have the EIS.

I also have the emulator. I've been told 204 write vin might be only accepted once after renew, so might as well do the emulator to guarantee the job. Please advise.

Appreciate any support here.

I also notice the VIN in ESL is missing the first 3 letters, it's dashes on the first 3 letters and the rest is correct.

Update Info for others I read from simon touch manual, anyone can confirm right?

- If you disconnect the power and the ESL is in Moving position after the assembling, this will kill the ESL NEC .
- If you choose the Locked switch position and you assemblethe ESL on Unlocked position, this will kill the ESL NEC.
- Assembles the ESL on UNLOCKED position.

Helped me in this situation and got the Emulator working. The original assembly I did was wrong and also the new motor I have seems bad also and don't have any others. So emulator got it working.

Try read/repair your key through "Repair IR" function....maybe help ;)
its v57 NEC ROM, or try desolder NEC and read PW(dump) directly, after renew and reprogramm as new again :listen:

1x do acquisition data = result failed....need again do acquisition data...when not enough, then need again... :listen:
check names of the files what you save after finished data acquisition, normal automaticaly every next filename have +1 in number ;)
when not, then manualy rewrite this number :listen: for example filename: VM_NOKEY2_10595F81_1.dat next time rewrite "1" at end to "2" when you save next file ;)

Does anybody have an idea what is going on with w220 EIS getting all key tracks blocked second time?
The original problem - ALL KEY TRACKS BLOCKED - I tried to reEnable v2.1.4 no success, found a donor file, went through all sing and dance procedure (incl virginizing the cluster due to dashes) and all only to get the same problem again in a few weeks after the car being back on the road.
So, i read EiS, all tracks blocked, but eis not personalized while ACTIVATED (refer to my pic's)
After tried to unblock again, got unpersonalized and unActivated eis.
Car is not here, no quick way of testing.
What are the steps to take now and what is the cause of all this???
I blame bad BATTERY the first time around, now what?? Battery got replaced.

No, I didn't read codes, the car isn't at my place. I need to do that,... I never read it thru obd2, don't have an adapter yet to do it easy. Did anyone have successfully unblock the tracks, ?
Also, where is the sync bytes for the cluster in the eis dump in case I need to replace eis and how to personalize it without having a workshop key?
Can I unblock the tracks manually in the dump, if yes how?

but you can read W639 through OBD too, when use blue K-line aligator and put it to different PIN in OBD plug instead of standard PIN nr.7 :listen:
in this case to PIN nr.1 I think is used diag pin for EZS unit directly ;)

yes... "second key" and "all key lost" isn't the same case....for all key lost you need to have connected VVDI to K-line PIN on EIS too :listen: not only to CAN-H and CAN-L :(

Hi everyone. Can someone help me with a problem I am having? Mbz 204 c klass ELV fatal error, repaired the error, and the I did the erase pass, but I can't get the key pass. What am I missing here? I watched the video also but not clear how to get the key pass. HELP please. I'm using VVDI2 mbP.S. and no Help from Samic. I wrote to him numerous times and no response from him

No, this adpater is only for old type ESL. Read key with any programmer, with UPA and Xprog you can read without desoldering

I don't understand how this happened. I had very good communication before and after I read the key, NEC, this happens. When I insert the key on the EIS, I get the error on the cluster and the red led stays on for a while and the blinks, and then goes away. Still can't open the ignition, still no communication to the els. What's happened? Please help..
p.S. I read the key shows data, EIS is normal, what happened I don't get it.

You need read hash by OBD and password from key.
now make new 8 keys and rewrite used key(v57) with new key file in same position.
dont use key file which automatically generate vvdi after password reading.

Because the alone process acqui data isn't so much comfortable in this case, I recommended to watch some good Movie by this work ;)

Get a w211 CGW . Cheaper than adapter. Check on ebay

This is what I am getting, picture shows no synchro. I check the key, shows normal, EIS shows normal, ESL/elv failed. But when I read it off the car, with the obd2 adaptor connected to the ESL it is normal and reads ok. Now, do I make another key for this or I can repair the old key?
