your dump dont have hash error. SKC is a old program for old eis.
the new eis's dont work with SKC.

you need to renew used eis and then write your data via ir
there are no need to code eis because you ve got all codings in gateway
you only need to change vin in eis

Hi am using this tool again ....
Got 5 mb keys off which extracted tokens from ... how to convert them to tokens for mb key all lost calculation .
The previous 5 keys i ordered is a lost case .. they tell me i must send it back to them (that will cost me double from what i paid .. impossible to get points from therm )
I contacted the supplier and they told me to throw them in dustbin (if i not want to send back) .. so this is all money lost situation on those 5 .

Im the same.I followed instructions from link:
I uploaded the tokens from 5 mb remotes and collected 1000 points but still dont have tokens on MBTool.
Also, after i binded my MBTool my VVDI2 is no longer binded.

But if you use orig xhorse be key, you can get one token from xhorse...

If you read EIS by programer (if it's possible...) and get Eeprom...
You can make new key by Eeprom without token...

When you see Status:

Personalized = No
Activated = No

This means that the control unit is already renewed.

Now your control unit is ready to be adapted to another car

Mr Daxxer nice to meet you , I have seen you spread your knowledge everywhere a couple of forums. For 5 years I have been doing lost keys for all vehicles , from Audi to bmw to Volvo and Jetta 5th (push start) It’s time to learn Mercedes .

I am.39 years old..i have private office for about 16years...couple years i have been on cars programing keys...started last year more stronger then before.. I have lot of question...like man say before now i go on Mercedes and i am buy vvdi mb I am totally beginner in this Mercedes..i watch 100 you tube videos how to...but always have some question and i am not shame of my misunderstood... on the end all of us was not concuretion and we don't live near. If some one knows how to do it and he won't money, let's send to inbox how much for knowledge of this procedure... in LCD repairs we have payed forum closed for other people, there we are open for all between us...one more thing about seller of specific hardware...in my case I have payed vvdi mb tool 50% less and know that price and support do not go together.

Not sure if it needs to be personalized or not first as it's in a virginized (Speculations) state. Answer yourelf :) If whole process took 20 minutes which is very fast time to make key to Mercedes then why bother with removing EIS which for sure is more time consuming.

Until you upload aquisition data it's like couple minutes, then you can upload file and wait while doing other job. If not successful then try again, not worth the hassle with removing EIS for spare keys when you have tool like that. If theres really problem like after 30 minutes to get PSW then remove to make customer happy.

Version 5.0.1 still has the same BUG: no data accusition is possible in VVDI MB IR reader from original key. I try it on two W212 EZS with Keyless go with original Keys and it drops reading in the IR with error.
I got around this choosing: ALL KEYS LOST option....

Kaluluka - seem like your problem is different. IR adapter is not same as IR key reader. In your case IR adapter may have problem with cable. You may need to buy a new one.

Hope all doing well here.
Well my MB tool after couple years of good use and many smiles suddenly is giving me some sadness.
All was working fine. Suddenly now when I plug it in then VVDI MB Tool software says " CANNOT FIND DEVICE".
I tried another USB cable, another USB port, Another Laptop with Win7. Nothing nothing nothing.
Doesn't even show a port in Device manager. I then tried FTDI prog to see if that detects it and nothing........

When I connect my VVDi2 and VVDi prog with the same cables and ports etc and all those working fine.

My MB Tool only green light comes on and that's it. I opened the casing and checked it and nothing seems physically damaged or blown. I resoldered the USB connector and tested the continuity with a tester and all show fine.
Seems the USB interface chip is dead.
:numbness::confusion::dong:I really feel sad as this tool is in daily use and I really rely on it everyday. I would hate to go back to my old Ak500 or anything else.

(It's got nothing to do with software update as the Upgrade kit also doesn't detect it)

Detecting fault isn't and easy task if you are not skilled with electronics (low level let's call it), important thing for ftdi to work is to have supply 5v usually taken from usb (pin 20 vcc pin 19 reset), usb data lines D+D- to FTDI pins also should be check these go to pin 15 & 16, then RxD and TxD (pin1 & pin5) these should go to main MCU.
Check FTDI designs and see how VVDI has done the configuration.
Check connections with multi meter (could be usb connector faulty), some designs have 22ohm on data lines D+ & D- and also a 1K resistor for reset FTDI during insertion on PC so device is detected properly.
Hope this helps a bit concerning FTDI check, since you said Mprog (ftprog) doesn't detect the FTDI properly..., worst case could be faulty FDTI due some static discharge.
Check Attached schematic VCC,GND, RESET TxD & RxD are important for you (this is a example of using FTDI in some circuit).

Ok So atleast I got some smiles back. :peaceful:
This machine does not have FTDI chip. I don't know how it communicates... Maybe doesn't need FTDI.
I measured voltages coming in from USB and on the closest compnent to the USB port I found that I had one pin with 5V and others nothing.
I opened up my VVDI2 and VVDI prog to compare and tested them and found that on the same component next to USB port I had one pin with 5v and other with 3v.
So I took the component from my VVDI prog as it's the cheaper of the 2 to experiment with and moved it to my VVDI MB Tool and connected it up. Voila it works again. It appears in device manager and also software reads and everything working fine.

What component is it you may ask?
4 Pin SMD marked WR1. With some google searching, I find that it is PRTR5V0U2X ESD Protection. Seems this is specifically designed to protect your device from any Surge from the USB port. This component acts like a fuse which will blow but prevent further damage caused by static / USB surge when connecting and disconnecting.
Cost of component is around $0.3 each or even less depends where you shop.

Hi,
You have done well, STM32F4xx if I'm not wrong VVDI use and this MCU has USB witch can run as Virtual COM Port Host (CDC Host), USB HID etc.
For test purpose only when you had noticed the fault even with removed ESD protection the device should be detected properly, but mounting a new esd protection is highly recommended.

Yes you can use old keyless key from w221. Only use original key shell aftermarket shell have bad contact for 2 batteries

Hi I have some question because I am new in Mercedes..
1. When is all key lost situation: always i need to take out eis or I can make key on car?
2. On old keys (with motorola or nec inside) can I use vvdi be keys?
3. Few days ago I add spare key on e211 2005year...and customer say that only one time he put key in eis start car and automatic gear was blocket..take key out..back in and all ok...old key was "black"one with that key some time rpm not working...

How do you mean bad or good programmed!? I follow all steps without any problems.. after that try key over 15time in one hour and all was ok... one man told me that Mercedes with black key is not good to program be keys because is problem with remote that usually need to pres two or three time lock it unlock button?!?!
What you do when you have this Mercedes with this black key?

Hi, Is it possible to create a Key with a high life counter so it matches the life count in EIS? Let's say KEY2 was used 2000 times (EIS + KEY2 should have a life of ~2000). Why would you need or want to do that even? You have 6 empty positions for keys simple solution make key to one of those!

It is possible to write a new key in a used position though it would serve no benefit to you and so is pointless.

I ask because I had once a car where only one empty position was left. For me it is not pointless to know how to do it. Every information/trick could help you someday...
Key2 was just an example. Replace Key2 with Key8 in my text ;-)

Ok got a Key working now on a non empty position (W251). The "new" key I generated has an activated status (14EC) and the life counter needs to be below the life counter of EIS.

I used the software from http://efichip.com/shop/16/desc/nec-programmer to generate a key dump with a custom life. But is there a different (free?) tool what can generate or edit a key dump? Is there a way to do this in VVDI?

Yesterday I had a w169 2010
Password calculation went as normal, upload data, data acquisition "failed to find password, try again".

I tried again, same thing.

Pulled the eis (easiest one iv ever taken out)and made with prog.

Again today I had the same problem with a w209.

Took eis out and made with prog no problem.

Anyone else having issues via obd?
