Still you haven't shown us anything to prove that!

Simple solution for you - VVDI costs much more than CGDI, so just sell it and buy a CGDI.
Then go on vacation with the money that you saved :D
You will make FBS4 keys (you will be the first to do that after Benz factory) and will show us video how you do it.
Everyone will be happy!

Has anybody had this problem. It happens with the last few versions of the software of VVDI MB tool and also with VVDI2.
When I'm browsing files through the VVDI software, for example when I want to save a dump or load a dump, it just doesn't load the directories and files on the right side panel. yes, I see , 4 logs from one operation ( one = 0kb - wonder what message contain, another 1kb - hmm... seems only from start MB , another 2 each 60kb )

What are you talking about. Vvdi mb killed the key irreturnable. Imposible to synch or renew with any adapter and other tools to. Nec corupted. I bought used key from other car renewed it and added .
Had to dissable dash remove eis and make AKL . To get pass.
Tried all ways before this .nothing helped.
No its not my furst mb. Even not first keyless its same as w221 ive done them. I dont wanna hear bullshit operator error etc. Its not the case.
Error on ori key 1004 read failed. It reads by IR but not renew it with adapters.
Martin about logs i dont know exacly which one. As after brick ive dine few other manipulations so aded few logs.

To resync manualy hold in eis . In out etc not worked.
With car and eis all good 100% . So fact that key was killed.

About support xh i dont expect imediately response or teamview asap. As last time i asked they responded after 3 or 4 days. This is uselles.

I added logs that maybe later they pay atention to what hapened and fix.

Hi,
As far as I know the AA flag can be cleaned in a proper way but this solution isn't available public, but you can send you nec chips to be recovered properly, this means all counters will be set to zero as it was a brand new device.
They way they do it "most of the tools" is aka brute force witch can lead to a dis functional nec - device.
About software updates, when they are done usually code that works isn't touched at all but only the functions that need some update or implementation of some new functionality.
So don't expect miracles when you buy some third party tool.
I would say always to have in mind that such problems can arrive.

Please double check that you have written here correct Special Key, or please upload ESL Dump or Hash List. The Special Key you have written here does not fit criteria for Sonder ...

There is probably problem with esl nec...
I have also second hand esl for same car w245.
Mb tool finds pass but impossible to make renew! Method "1" for renew gives "success" but the esl is always personalized! The method "2" returns an error "not proper response esl or esl not activated" (esl checkbox "activated" is checked).
Don't know if problem is esl or vvdi...

Thank you for uploading ESL dumps and screen shots.

I can see from the 1st dump (The dump with invalid Sonder) that this ESL has been renewed previously and then personalized again. I assume that when it was personalized again after being renewed, someone has mistakenly entered either the EZS Password or some random 8 bytes as the Sonder Hash .... This could explain why the Sonder Hash is not valid. Also, another thing i notice on this 1st dump, None of the Keys have been used. On the 2nd Dump you have uploaded we can see that Key0 and Key1 are used all other keys are not yet used. We also have a valid Sonder Hash inside this 2nd ESL dump. Sorry i am not anymore help to you with this one friend.

It looks to me that the Erase Pass has worked, because now the ESL status is showing "Not Personalised" and "Not Activated"

Cycle Power to ESL and read again, you should see Serial Number and Part Number again.

Tell me please, When you cycle power to ESL and read again, what is the Special Key? Because normally after Renew, the Special Key will get updated to Erase Pass.

Does this happen, or does the original Special Key come back again after you cycle power?

Ok, this morning i searched in workshop and i found an ESL from a W169 with same part number as your ESL. I connected up on bench to VVDI MB Tool and made some tests ... All went well, VVDI MB Tool Renewed my ESL as it should. Here are some screenshots of each step so you can see.

1st Reading of used ESL:

Get Erase Pass Success:

Renew ESL Successfully:

Read ESL data again after Renew:

Read ESL data again after cycle power:

574356

As you can see from these screenshots all has worked as it should with my W169 ESL, i can only assume that your ESL has corrupt firmware inside ... I can draw on no other conclusion :(

Hi all.

I have had vvdi mb for about 10 months have loved it.
It does everything that it says it can do, and haven't had any real problems.

I'm still pretty new to Mercedes and am no way close to being an expert, but bought it with the main intention to do mercs via obd.

I couldn't do afew so I bought the vvdi prog and eis adapters, which has been great for afew cars and has worked flawlessly.

Today I had a 2003 compressor
VIN W203
Box of eis was w209
Circuit board was w211 hc12

I used the eis adapter "211 hc12", connected appropriately, tried to read eeprom.

At the bottom of the screen on the prog I kept getting "reading failure, connect 12v adapter".

Iv looked around and cant find an 12v adapter for w211?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some nuts are harder to crack then others, some types need more list to achieve the goal.
The success depends on a lot of things involved to make life difficult :)
The success on what list will the password be recovered depends fon:
1. luck
2. then the power if the DB you have, some are more efficient then others.

It does everything that it says it can do, and haven't had any real problems.

I'm still pretty new to Mercedes and am no way close to being an expert, but bought it with the main intention to do mercs via obd.

I couldn't do afew so I bought the vvdi prog and eis adapters, which has been great for afew cars and has worked flawlessly.

Today I had a 2003 compressor
VIN W203
Box of eis was w209
Circuit board was w211 hc12

I used the eis adapter "211 hc12", connected appropriately, tried to read eeprom.

At the bottom of the screen on the prog I kept getting "reading failure, connect 12v adapter".

Iv looked around and cant find an 12v adapter for w211?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, problem is with the web page, not with our browsers. There's just no vertical scroll bar and if your screen is smaller, the lower parts of the page are not possible to reach :D
That's why my solution is better than fixing the browser - just zoom out.

when you have the set hooked up then measure the resistance across the can H/L pins ( no power applied ), if the resistance is >120ohm lets say 470ohm or more then 120ohm can should be applied.
check the power voltage is it 13.8v (some modules work much better at this voltage rater then 12v.

Hello everybody,

today I tried to replace ESL on W169 with second hand unit but I got into some problems with reading ESL and was not able to complete job with MB tool. I could successfully read EIS via OBD but for some reason I could not get any data from neither ESL. I even opened both ESLs and tried to read NEC eeprom via adapter but still without any success.

Eventually I physically replaced eeprom from original to second hand ESL and solved problem but cant help wondering why my tool was unable to read any of those two ESLs.

I have the same elv cable problem , and w204 and 164 all keys lost stop working at the same time ,I think kline input is bad or something with the power because now the power LEDs works if I connect usb not obd power.

Any W164 have ELV line for anything :listen: when you cant did W164 AKL then its another fault...check your IR cable ;)

Is reading, canbus and ir OK but power adapter seems to spect k line signal or some kind of power from the tool, my power adapter is good, I actually have 2 of them.

I have done many units, what I was saying is if you renew a 7g writing the Vin is not enough to make it work. You need to initialise/scn. The CVT box found in B class ect only needs vin though this is entirely different from 7G unit.

ive done a lot of units too
but i notice that its not important to do initial startup for old cars - they works and very often drive without limp mode
but you can feel hard shifts and other symptoms of improper work

Use IR with ONLINE PASSWORD CALCULATION.

Works like a charm for old vitos!!!

looks like you are lazy to take eis out from car and read eep ? :D :D :D
w639 2008 and up are CAN eis !!!
W639 2004 till 2007 are Kline eis !!!
this are very big difference... ;)
