2005 W211, Customer wanted spare key, he has 1 fully working key and another start only, central locking not working.
Could not read EIS via OBD, only via IR. Tried to get password via on line and I kept getting key not synchronised with EIS.
So decided to try and get password from NEC of second key (Success).
Made another key and when inserted into EIS, all I get is "Computing data please wait". After 10 minutes still the same.
The key count kept going up every time I inserted the EIS after reading the key but just below it was still showing Unused.
Anyone had the same experience?

the best solution for this , remove the EIS , read it with vvdi prog and calculate dump to get keys. that way its guarantee the keys will start the car again

i dont think its possible at the moment donno my own opinion since the password is protected by 9s12. the best easy solution , remove EIS and calculate DUMP. its just a 10 minute job , with VVDI prog i dont think u will corrupt the flash unless u use a cheap 9s12 programmer like old Rosfar

Took the EIS out read the Eeprom prepared new keyfiles and new key worked straight away on slot 8.
Password was the same as what I got from the key, so must have been the Hashes

Well it happen you just need to put the key into EZS and wait 5 minuts. Key will work again, dont need desolder NEC..

older models have Kline on pin 1, so if it fails to communicate to eis via OBD, clip that to pin 1 and try again.

How can I tell if they gonna provide me the ERASE password needed for the VVDI tool? I read what they offer, another mystery. A friend with MB Tool does not have a clue about Erase Pass.

Now, the support has not replied yet......

I had the key password calculated and while trying to get the erase password, forgot to save the key password, it happened 2 days ago. So, to get the password again, do I need to run password Acquisition again? if yes is it free for this VIN? Or I can pull it out from logs somewhere?

Another thing,
If I get another EIS for this w204, can and hopefully get it ERASED, can I reprogram it so it looks like original eis with all it's data? Reason is,.... I only have the EIS and ESL for this vehicle. Working on the bench.

The problem is that I ~~~~ed up the old key and now either of the new keys work...

1). Now, if it's not the right one, can you or I check?
2). If I enter it and try to flash eis and it is a wrong password, will the process stop before the flashing?
4). If writing does not stop, will I damage this eis beyond the repair?
5). Can I get the key pass from my key, rom57, without taking nec off?or any other way? I didn't save my server calculated key password, it was late at night, and I was sure i saved it.
Is it the same erase password for the ESL? Tried getting Erase pass for ESL -> no luck either.
Talking to support now, Samic engineer is extremely helpful.

Friday they roll out a new update with the possibility of esl repair without the need to flash eis now. Let's wait patiently.
For now, erase password successful calculation probability is 90% ONLY...

Tried pass calculation on an older W211 through IR with ROM40 - don't try it because key losses sync and you are left without working key and without PASS. If you gonna do it, do it through OBD2 or don't waste your time and do it with Xprog straight on.

i use BE keys from my source to more then 3 pcs of W906 and success, years 2010, 2012 and 2014 ;)
maybe you not right teached the key in all ignitions positions to all ecu units :listen:
need little time wait in each ignition position ;) i think you are only too fast to have result....
use DAS diagnostic to see all actual values about drive permission when try to teaching key to EZS

About the BE keys, maybe is true maybe not. We live the same time for all the keys and in ver.57 work.

in my key history about more then 100 pcs BE keys I haven't till today no any car where is installed FBS3 system no any problem with use BE key there :listen:
the oldest was W202 from 1997 and the newest W906 from 2014 ;)

Recently I bumped into a W220 2001. The original key stopped working after car battery change. I couldn't get any communication working with this car - neither by IR, nor by OBD2. There's an alarm sounding all the time, too(I'm not sure if it is original or aftermarket one). Could someone give me a hint what to do? If I program a new key directly by eeprom will it work? It seems like there's no power to the EZS at all. The fuses were fine but didn't have the tool to check the 12V line...

Cannot read via IR either on the car, or on the bench (only OBD) , so cannot renew it.

Hey Everyone,

Thanks to Daxxer and the Xhorse team I was able to make a key for a old W203 (no keys). The reason why the new key was not synching back to the EIS is because the flash of the EIS was corrupted (Mask:3K91D)
Tip: only use high quality programmer as some delete both the flash and EEPROM when reading this mask (3K91D). I completed this job with the VVDI Prog.
I then found a good flash on DK and wrote the flash back to the EIS and made a key from the EEPROM. Key didn't sync in seconds, but it synced after a few minutes so bit of patience is needed. But end result successful key was made for customer. I am happy

Car is 1999 E320 W210.

New key inserted, I heard stearing unlock and stays Unlocked.
Key will not turn in EZS, Key LED lights up for couple seconds and then starts blinking.

EZS gives out good key hashes via IR.
Changed to another EZS by resoldered both original MCU on it, same symptom.
Made anohter key, same symptom

i have little dreaming and then little playing with original VVDI EZS/EIS cable adapter for reading on bench from W164/W251 - EZS/EIS units. :)
because condition for reading by W164 EZS unit are the same as by W211-W169-W209-W203 (W203 newer type from 2003 up), then i upgrade
this W164 EZS cable adapter with plug for W211 EZS type and plug for ESL unit suitable to this older EZS type... ;)
need now only as by W164 EZS have connected some CGW/ZGW unit ( like gateway ), can be anyone used, in this case is his function only as basis
simple interface for converting CAN-C to CAN-B and then can be this EZS units readed by VVDI MB BGA tool on bench :listen:

Better do in bench, because you will need about 3 hours to take out the password.

You just need EZS to do the job, with the correct cables.

Yesterday try to replaced EIS in W212 with other used one, not exactly the same part number, but with help of EPC was replaceable :listen:
Orig EIS + 1 key functional (orig EIS have some malfuctionals, sometime ok, sometime not, but all keys data readable yet)
calculation key password online, get erase password success - all data saved ;)

other used one EIS from scrapyard, no any keys, then through step: W212 all key lost to get key password, get erase password - all success ;)
then renew this EIS with all valid passwords - success
read all EIS data from orig part and as first write VIN, then write all key data ( the process is almost the same as when teaching ELV or Emulator unit to W204)
use orig key and NEW EIS is success activated ;)

all work with both EIS are on the table, without car !!!

put new(used) EIS back to the car and need little time wait for key recalculating to car, then turn to first ignition position and again wait for recalculating....
at end turn to 2nd ignition lights OK, again wait for recalculating in ECU, after message away try turn key to start - car start, all okey
remote lock/unlock work, no any problems...

all work was on W212 from 2009 year with ELV steering locking unit

You don?t need spetial cables, use obd cable and connect to ecu

i had 2 ver 57 key that i read the psw from and after i could'nt sync key back to the car.
it kept telling calc but would'nt sync.
had to use new slot and was ok.

Did you go straight to psw extraction from key or you tried to extract with a token first? What I'm thinking is - it's best to generate a key on a used position right after you read the hashes and not to read the hashes then do something else on the car and then generate and try to sync. Also after you generate it you must leave it for some time, then if it still doesn't work you have to reinsert it 10-15 times. Also sometimes it helps to press a button on the remote while trying to turn the key. It has worked for me.

For W169 you have the following options:
- calculate the pass with a TOKEN
- get pass from working key if it is v51/v57
- get pass by EEPROM method from EIS

You CANNOT get pass by IR on that car. IR method works only on old(before year 2004) K-line cars and not on all of them.

I extracted PW today on W216 with Abrites. It's a very long process as you have to insert and take out the IR adapter for every try, but it worked eventually.

So we need gateway Module?
How to connect Gateway Module? I have the EIS cable set for VVDI. I see the W164 has 3 connectors. So 2 go into EIS and 3rd is for ESL or for gateway?
Can somebody give me a hint where to find the gateway module because I need to send somebody to remove it from vehicle as vehicle is far from me.

For future would it better to buy the new Gateway plug that I see is available on the vvdishop? Would I still need gateway or no more if I use that plug?

Cgw in w164 is under driver seat, you must remove driver seat and plastic for heat and you see cgw and music ammplifir.

yes...yes....yes...used keys from scrapyard are more expensive then NEW BE keys...and are more work with them... :listen:
only exception are KeylessGo keys....this you can get only from Mr.Daimler or from scrapyard...when are in usable condition yet ;)

original MB keys have to be renew before you write new data on it, but don't worry, vvdi can do the job.

I went to the vehicle and removed the Gateway. Was easy to find with you help.
I now connected it and it reads on VVDI. But how to I get key password? It's all keys lost!!!

EZS with HC05 not possible to get pass through IR, only EZS with HC08 you can get, for example W203 year 2000-2002 and other EZS from this data production and HC08 inside :listen:

The massage only stays for a blink of an eye, very hard to read.
If I remove and re-insert it reads a small amount then I have to repeat.
On some cars it takes 50+ remove and re-insert to get to 100% and quite often it does not read correctly.

Yes in some eis like hc05 this can happen it is not the ir adaptor u need to remove chip and read it by adapter for password calculation thanks

I don't think this one have 3L40K. It has newer type MCU. If put any key the ignition will turn, but nothing come on DASH. Old type EIS will not turn without correct key.
If anybody has some solution / idea please let me know as this is all keys lost situation.

w164-2009 - did spare key today with online calculation, after completion original key started the car 2 times then lose sync. dont know why. spare key worked 100% . luckily v57 nec on key. wrote the key again and worked. if this was a spare key with an original bga key you might lose the orginal key. ml63 merc and eis turn with any key.

friend, it has nothing with online calculation as you described.car start 2 times then lose sync,not sure the exactly caused reason,
maybe the original key caused or the eis code-hopping. when this situation happened again, we can get last key hash from key with password support

But you are trying to adapt one new EZS ? Are you trying to right the VIN by OBD or IR?

2-VVDI mb can renew and personalize activate the gearbox without the help of any extra device like xentry or diagnostic tool?
