I seem to have some problems with some (not all) of HD channels. (ie; HBO HD, H2 HD, HOB Hits HD, CNN HD etc). I noticed that the SNR is about 60 to 75%. Thus, is shows a blank screen. Is it due to usage of different Cams or is it a hardware issue? (like tuner etc).

Just browse st*rh*b website and notice that BPL will only broadcast in HD... super sian means DM500 has no chance!

Any bros with DM800 can verify that you have that channel and can preview classic matches? How many BPL channel in total? Can share image?

If can watch then I will buy 1 DM800 for it.

This is a very common issue.
If you happen to have used a splitter, try bypass the splitter and connect direct from the wall point to the box.
If problem happen to be the splitter, you need to get use a certified one.
If no splitter in use, try to replace the signal cable with a high quality 75 Ohm coaxial cable.
If you have try all the above and problem still exist, then that could be the tuner module faulty or your house cabling quality issue.

I am using 800HD and have updated the channels using DBedit. I noticed some channels such as 155 and 468 etc. have Tuned Failed error. For 468, it works sometimes. Is this an issue with the cable signal? I do not think it is an issue with the parameters as all of us are using the same. In general, most channels work fine but 155 never works. Thanks.

this is a great guide, but im having so much problems running dreamedit on my mac - the wineskin is giving me problems...

So if I were to just use ftp..where should the files & folders be?

I have been scanning for a bit & this is what I found so far for dm800hd se:

picon folder : /picon

/etc/enigma2 : has the *.tv files & these 2 files: satellites.xml & timers.xml

I still cant find the cable.xml & the terrestrial.xml tho' where should these go?

Really would appreciate some pointers.

I have edited and added in 900+ set of channels for the On-Demand Channels to share with all [DM800HDse E2 only], but only available if there are people watching.

Dreambox DM800 series definitely able to receive all the 8 channels of MioStadium.
But remember that not all the tuner quality the same.

Out of the 10 sets, about 2-3 sets would have issue recieving just 2-3 channels.
Luckily I have cache of DM800 tuner modules.. swap the tuner module, and they can receive all 8 channels.

So, if you owned a DM800 series set top box, and got the latest service files, and still see blank screen, likely be the tuner issue.

For those who going to buy, please take note of this issue.
Remind the supplier to use better tuner!

Do not use this method if box is not Dream Multimedia model.

Complete Tools/Program for Dreambox
Open PD DreamboxToolbox v.9.0


Open DB edit

PROFILES:
option/profiles/new profile/set your box model & ip address/the rest just leave as default/test ip connection/after successful select enigma 2 setting for 800 series/cable receiver for 500 series enigma 1/save profile/save.

GENERAL:
Tick box 1/3/4/enable zap function/save.

MESSAGES:
Tick all box

FTP:
Tick enable quick ftp send/issue reload command.

COLOR SCHEME:
Select whatever color u like

ADVANCED:
Tick Allow duplicate entries / display reboot

PICON:
Tick show picon for service/40X30 picon dimension/browse for where u put your picon folder/save.
As for sending of picon i prefer to send it manually using DCC program or if u know the folder u can send it using dreambox edit eg for 500C PLI images is var\tuxbox\config\enigma\picon type this in your picon box under option/profile/path for picons in Dreambox



Select open/directories for your bouquet folder/ok.
Right click on all the channel list/ set keep flag option to ON/ok this is to keep the channel intact/u can go on edit the service data, under flag option only Tick the 2nd box H (hide) if u don't want the channels to be display on your box like eg. those demand channels/save.
When u done editing all the channel list + bouquet & u r sure about it ,select FTP/Tick auto reload setting enigma 2 for 800 series only/send files to Dreambox/Reload settings on Dreambox/Restart enigma.
For 500 series send files to Dreambox/Reload settings on Dreambox/Reboot Dreambox.
Do not create any bouquet for E1 500C or else u can't use the 3 digit direct channel selection.
There will be some minor mistake entry don't worry edit it,then send it again. Congratulation now your list is intact the same as SH channel list.



This is the way i normally do if u guys knows a better way or something i miss please feel free to add & correct me.
This is for those file that is already arranged post in dl section,for new scan will be more tidious & time consume but still a good way to gain experience arranging from scratch
