And from my standpoint I 100% appreciate the help here. I'm willing to give anything a go.
If this fixes the issue, with whatever image, I'll warmly shake ur hand and buy you a beer (albeit it might have to be a virtual one if travel is a problem for you ;-) )
As of yesterday I would have warmly shaken the throat of anyone connected with the selling company and then poured a beer over them.
Any help to get me up and working with this kit is totally appreciated. Will have a look at this after the footie this evening
Cheers all.

Whats the recommended format for these drives btw. FAT32, and empty, save the image, I assume.
One thing to note is that the initial failure I had on this unit was after loading the first overnight EPG which was setup to save to external rear USB pendrive. The files appeared to have saved OK, but might that operation somehow corrupt the image, causing this 'red dot of death'??
TBH I can't see how it would, but it is a coincidence.Comment

Sigh
I have tried rebooting with three diff usb drives in the front usb port. rebooted numerous times, also in the back
In end connected the serial port and tried reloading the secret file - success. Then reflashed with updateallflash (both as per instructions on the Ferrari site "HOW TO BRING A LIVE YOUR BRICK VU+ DUO"). These both seemed to complete.
But I still just get single red dot and can't seem to get the USB pendrive to be seen no matter how many times I reboot
What am I missing here??
Can I reload image via serial not usb? or at least see what, if anything its doing on boot??? (hyperterm or "putty" is shown in ferrari vids for this, but a bit lost here)Comment
